Good Evening to All My Friends on HIVE!
How are you all doing? If you ever have leftover cooked rice after a meal, don't let it go to waste! Instead, you can dry it out in the sunlight and use it to prepare a delicious recipe called Aggala. Today, I’m excited to share this simple and flavorful Sri Lankan recipe with you. It's not just easy to prepare but also a nutritious snack that you can enjoy with your family.
Recently, I had some leftover cooked rice and decided to dry it properly. It took about 3 to 4 days for the rice to completely dry out in the sunlight. Alternatively, you could store it in the refrigerator for over a week, allowing it to dry out thoroughly.
So, let's explore how to transform this leftover rice into delightful Aggala—a sweet and crispy snack that embodies the essence of Sri Lankan culinary tradition. Let’s get started!
Method of making....
🍀 1 cup of Sun-dried cooked rice.
🍀 3 tablespoon of sugar.
🍀 A pinch of salt .
🍀 2/3 cup of grated coconut.
Method of making....
First, take a pan and place it on the stove. Add the dried cooked rice to the pan and roast it while stirring continuously until it turns a golden brown color.
First, take a blender and its cup. Add the roasted dried cooked rice to the blender and blend it well until it forms a smooth texture.
Next, add the grated coconut, a bit of sugar, and a pinch of salt to the blended rice. Blend everything together thoroughly until it’s well mixed.
Next, remove the mixture from the blender cup and transfer it to a bowl. Shape it into small balls and serve as a tasty treat.
So, this is how you can easily make this dish as well. It’s really tasty, and even little ones love this recipe. You can serve it as a treat for everyone, no matter their age. I’ll be back with more new things soon. Enjoy!
