Today's Bitcoin University YouTube video post reminded me that today is the 15th anniversary of the bitcoin whitepaper.
15 years have passed since the pseudonymous individual known as Satoshi Nakamoto posted his groundbreaking whitepaper that would forever alter the landscape of finance and technology.
On October 31, 2008 Satoshi Nakamoto published "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" introducing the world to the revolutionary concept of a decentralized digital currency.
In the 15 years since the whitepaper's release bitcoin has grown from an idea for a digital currency into a global financial force. Its core principles of decentralization, security, and transparency have inspired the creation of countless blockchain projects and digital currencies, including Hive, collectively referred to as "cryptocurrencies."
You wouldn't be reading this if it wasn't for the whitepaper. Thank you Satoshi Nakamoto.
