Hi community!
The RFEF backs down on the consultation with the CSD because the idea is postponed for the moment, despite the fact that LaLiga still intends to play a match there in the future.
Finally, the Barcelona-Atletico Madrid match will not be played on December 22 in Miami. On October 25, we reported in MD that the RFEF had received a request from LaLiga to play the match.
A decision that, as we explained then, should now be adopted by the Management Committee, as the management body of the RFEF instead of the Board of Directors, and as it is an electoral period. This afternoon we reported in MD that the federation had submitted a query to the CSD to confirm all the effects that may determine this decision.
This query was made taking into account what happened in the recent past and during the time that the Management Committee was acting since Luis Rubiales resigned on September 20 of last year. Then the management body chaired at that time by Pedro Rocha adopted certain decisions as a manager that were later reported to the TAD itself and that have ended with Pedro Rocha being disqualified by the Court itself for two years.
However, this Monday the RFEF has communicated to the CSD that it is reversing the consultation. A decision that responds to the fact that it is reversing the intention to play this league match outside our borders.
This is what both the RFEF and especially LaLiga have considered. They consider that now is not the time to do so given this interim situation in the RFEF. But this does not mean that LaLiga continues with its desire to be able to play a league match outside Spain. More so now that it maintains this very close relationship with the federation.
See You soon! 🏐🏐
