At some point, I thought life wasn’t so fair to me because it was taking forever for me to get a phone and I just had to accept the fact that until I get my own money to buy a phone, I might as well remain without one because there wasn’t any good reason why I needed one because my sister had one so if anyone needed to get to us they can just call her phone. And I could use her phone most times so I didn’t bother too much about it until I got into junior secondary school.
I was around 12 years old then and I still didn’t have a phone to call mine but almost all my peers did. At that point the pressure was a bit more but I tried to suppress it as usual and even find fault with children of my age using phone at that age, lol. I envied them but looking back now I think the fact that I wasn’t exposed to having a phone early in life has contributed in a good way to my life so it’s all good.
So moving forward to my first smart phone, I think prior to when I got my first smart phone my sister got a new phone first and she just had to give me her old Nokia phone and I was around 14 years old then. When I got that phone I was happy but not so much because it was just like every other day since I didn’t had interest in having a phone then as I have already make up my mind to just get a good phone when the time is right. Anyways, I still had to accept it and just use it since my sister wasn’t always going to be around anymore.
So when I finally got my first smart phone, it was bought for me by my neighbor who for some reason had to take it back because his phone was bad, lol. I was so pained but I guess I saw it coming so I didn’t make a fuss about it at all. At that point I knew I needed to make my own money to get myself a phone. Well, I didn’t get a good job early so it was so hard to get a phone until I met this amazing person that gave me his old phone since he saw I needed it. I was so excited this time because the phone was still looking new and classy.
It was a Gionee phone, it has a lot of features that made it stand out from other phones so I was privileged to start my smart phone journey with a good one. I used that phone for over a year and few months before it got bad one Sunday afternoon. I was so sad that day because I had things to do with it. The phone has a red back and great font. The camera wasn’t bad too but I didn’t use it that much then because I still wasn’t satisfied with it, hehe.
I don’t have a picture of my first smart phone but if I remember correctly it was a Gionee A1 lite, above it’s a screenshot image of it on Chrome. It was a really nice phone, I didn’t have any complaints using it until the day it got bad so I’d give it a 7/10.
