Ya tenemos a los equipos clasificados para el hexagonal que determinará al campeón del sudamericano sub-20 que se está desarrollando en Venezuela.
El objetivo de los 6 clasificados no es únicamente el de coronarse campeón sino, además, obtener uno de los 4 pasajes al mundial de la categoría que se desarrollará entre los meses de setiembre y octubre de este año en Chile, quien de esa manera organizará su segundo evento mundial de la categoría ya que realizó el anterior en el año 1987.
Aunque todavía queda pendiente la última fecha programada del grupo B, debido a los resultados previos no hay posibilidad de que cambien los 3 países que pasan al hexagonal, la única novedad podría estar dada por el orden en que lo hagan y por lo tanto los enfrentamientos cruzados con los 3 clasificados del grupo A.
El grupo A ya ha finalizado la ronda clasificatoria y los equipos que pasan a disputar el hexagonal son Uruguay, Paraguay y Chile, el anfitrión no logró clasificar pese a que superó en la última jornada a los uruguayos que aprovechando la clasificación temprana prefirió darles descanso a los titulares, algo muy necesario en este tipo de torneos donde se juegan los partidos cada 2 o 3 días. Venezuela empató en puntos con Chile (6) pero por haber perdido el encuentro entre ellos quedó fuera del hexagonal.
Por la otra llave, la del grupo B, Argentina, Colombia y Brasil ya están clasificados, el único equipo que podría alcanzar a Brasil para disputarle la tercera plaza es Ecuador, pero al haber perdido el enfrentamiento entre ellos ya está fuera del selecto grupo de 6 que disputarán los 4 cupos para el mundial.
Pese a que todavía queda la definición, este torneo sub-20 ya nos ha dejado algunas curiosidades, por ejemplo, hubo dos equipos que perdieron un encuentro por 6 a 0 (Brasil y Paraguay), sin embargo, ambos han pasado de ronda.
Otra curiosidad, dado que entre los 6 seleccionados que disputarán el hexagonal final se encuentra Chile, país anfitrión del próximo mundial y por lo tanto clasificado, de los 5 que quedan solo uno se perderá la cita mundialista.
Hoy se completan los encuentros entre Argentina y Ecuador por un lado y Brasil con Colombia por el otro, como he mencionado, estos dos encuentros definen los cruces de la primera fecha del hexagonal pero no puede cambiar a ninguno de los 3 equipos clasificados.
Se acerca la definición y comienza la diversión.
South American Under-20
We already have the teams qualified for the hexagonal that will determine the champion of the South American under-20 tournament that is taking place in Venezuela.
