Hello, dear friends of this fantastic community! Today, I want to share my experience from yesterday. For the first time, I had the opportunity to visit a new park that was recently inaugurated in Soave, in the province of Verona. This small town is just 10 km from my home and is practically where I was born, a very beautiful and characteristic village. We've already talked about this beautiful location, which was awarded the title of "Borgo dei Borghi" in 2022. It's worth mentioning that within this village, many people are dedicated to enhancing green areas and creating new ones. There's an important section of the Lega Ambiente (Environmental League) dedicated to this cause. I believe this is extremely important, both for a city and for a small town like Soave, which has only about 8,000 inhabitants. It's crucial that there are places within our communities where people can relax and breathe fresh air, and green areas must be cherished. This park was dedicated to Eva Mameli Calvino, the mother of the writer Italo Calvino, and it was inaugurated on June 15, 2023. Inside, you can find sports facilities, an urban forest in development, and outdoor spaces for relaxation. Benches with tables have been installed, perfect for working or having a peaceful picnic surrounded by greenery. There's also a small wooden gazebo. Most of the plants have been recently planted, so it will take some time for the park to reach its full beauty. However, the goal is clear: to create a magnificent forest in the heart of our town. There are also book houses where you can take a book and sit down to read. In short, in this green area, there are many opportunities to spend pleasant time and, I believe, to socialize with people from the community. Let's hope that all of this won't be vandalized, as unfortunately often happens in Italy.
