Marie and her family just came back from a week long holiday. When they parked their car and opened the main door, a strong smell of stale air came right towards their nose. It felt a little like the smell of a dead rat or some decayed matter.
First thing Marie did was to go to every single window latch and open up every window. The house had severely lack of circulation which allowed the air to become so stale. After that is done, she did a sniff test to slowly narrow down where is the source of the smell which finally directed her towards the store room. When she opened the store room, the smell was so pungent and indeed there was a dead rat.
Marie quickly bagged that dead rat and put in a bag of charcoal to soak up the foul smell then close the storeroom door. After a week of soaking up of smell, the store room no longer smell bad and everything is back to normal.
