I started to play online chess again. The time control is 3 minute blitz as usual. The rust is evident as I struggled to find simple tactics and lost a couple of winning games on blunders. Finally I managed a win when I had my opponent at a familiar structure I was familiar with. This allowed me to play faster. In this position, the idea is to lock the center and the kingside while pushing my pawns on the queenside. My black bishop on h2-b8 diagonal and rooks on b1 and c1 will help in the push. It's also possible to sacrifice the Knight on c6 to free my c-pawn.
My opponent however, sacrificed his Bishop on h3 to get his K-side attack going. I anticipated this and moving my rook to e1 and put my own bishop on f1 to help defend the king. After the Queens were exchanged, the win was easy to achieve.
