Hello everyone. As I hovered with my social media,
I found my pictures during the wedding day of my brother in 2021. As one of the bridesmaids, I wore a pink infinity dress. I was one of the Bridesmaids, like I used to be at my elder sister’s wedding in 2016. Yes, I’ve always been a bridesmaid except to my younger sister’s wedding in the U.S. Certainly, I’ll be her maid of honor if they did it here in the Philippines. People keep asking when can they finally see me becoming a bride, but, that’s a pressure! Yet, to be honest, the self-pity comes in sometimes, that I am the only one among of my siblings who don’t have a wedding even if I have a baby and they don’t have.
These are the groom’s men. The first man in line was my partner in the dance who is also a married man. He is my sister-in-law’s brother who has the same age with me. The rest of the groom’s men are our neighbors and cousins. Here in the Philippines, their roles are to serve and protect the groom and her bride, to entertain the guests especially the parents and grandparents of the bride. Those are their duties that they failed to do because there were wedding planners.
The wedding was held at the beach. There were only a few of guests because it was far from Butuan city. Some of our relatives were busy, some didn’t have a fare. We expected of many guests that day but they never came.
Cakes for wedding are costly. Each of these cakes costs 150$. Both cakes are expensive but the taste was not nice.
Kids were looking neat and adorable in their outfit. They are ring, coin and Bible bearer. My nephew at the right side is their son who was always asking when will they end the wedding because he cannot wait to swim at the sea.
These are the bridesmaids in their own style of the infinity dress. Their makeup are just light that made them look charming. From left to right is my cousin, my little sister and cousin again. The groom’s men behind were obviously amazed on how cute looking they are.
This is the table setting where my uncle and aunt sat at the bottom. There were many expected guests, but most of them are from the mountains.
In the picture is my mom who cried and hug my brother. It was an emotional scene that I couldn’t handle to watch because they talked about our late father. If only he was still alive, he would be happy to witness his wedding. It was still painful for us that he couldn’t attend the special day of his eldest and one and only son. How about you? Did you ever experience to be a bridesmaid? Is your family complete on your wedding?
