Ode to the Largest Parts!

The skin, our largest organ wide,
A shield, protection, health’s true guide.
It wraps us up, from head to toe,
A barrier strong, against each foe.
The gluteus maximus, muscle grand,
In the body, it takes a stand.
Strength and power in every stride,
With glutes so strong, our legs provide.
The femur bone, the strongest one,
Supports our weight, under the sun.
In thigh it lies, sturdy and long,
A pillar of strength, so firm and strong.
The sciatic nerve, the longest thread,
From spine to toes, its path is spread.
A nerve so vast, it carries pain,
And motion through its wide domain.
The aorta, artery supreme,
Carries life in a flowing stream.
From heart to limbs, it pumps blood bright,
Sustaining life with every flight.
The liver, gland of vital might,
Detoxifies by day and night.
It stores and filters, builds and breaks,
A powerhouse that never fakes.
The ovum, cell of life’s new start,
Begins the journey, heart to heart.
Largest cell in human kind,
A miracle of life defined.
The spleen, lymphatic organ true,
Filters blood, renews it too.
A guardian of our immune,
In health’s defense, it’s opportune.
The Achilles tendon, strong and tight,
Anchors us with strength and might.
From calf to heel, it bears the load,
In every step, it’s our road.
The iliofemoral ligament, firm and lean,
Supports the hip, a vital scene.
It keeps us stable, strong, and sure,
In every movement, every cure.
The costal cartilage, flexible and fine,
Links ribs to sternum, in a line.
Provides the chest its strength and ease,
In breath’s embrace, it finds its peace.
From skin to glutes, from bone to nerve,
Each part has function, life to serve.
A symphony of the body’s art,
In health and strength, we each take part.
