It's Hive Power Up Day (HPUD) so I made sure to stake at least 20 HIVE early in the day. It's the fifth for the year and I'm committed to doing it each month to grow my HP just as I am working to build and increase my Leo Power.
I'm sure most of us know how important Hive Power is but for those who are new on the blockchain, Hive Power or HP as it is commonly called is HIVE staked or powered up. Here on Hive, we need Resource Credits to do any transaction (creating contents, voting, commenting, reblogging etc) and that is what Hive Power gives. And not only that, the amount of HP one has also determines the value and weight of his votes, hence it is often said that increasing one's Hive Power means having more influence on-chain.
Also, in my opinion if one is thinking long-term, staking is one of the best ways to keep saving HIVE, not anywhere else but on our own Hive wallet where we own our keys. While doing so, we also use it to upvote (curate) other people's contents and we earn curation rewards in the process.

Anyway, after powering up this morning, my staked HIVE now stands at 1,158 HP. Glad to have been able to add 142 HP last month. Small growth but at least progressing, yay!
This is how it has been adding up since January of this year.
My goal for this alt is to reach 1500 HP before December. And in as much as I wanted to cross it off real soon, I have decided to not stress myself and just enjoy the journey towards it.
