Earlier in the month (6th June), I asked my niece (Kits) to show me how to make pizza. Believe it or not, I've never made one myself so I was chuffed to help and see how it is done. Well, except that the dough had already been prepared and all I did was add the toppings, lol! This was my masterpiece before it was put into the oven.
After a while, it came out like this. It's not the most enticing food, noh? Don't judge too soon, just wait until it is sliced. I bet you will change your mind.😅
See? It's looking like a pizza after all! 8 thin cheesy slices. No crust. No fanciness or any special stuff. Just the way we liked it.
And oh, blame this guy for that missing piece. He just couldn't wait😁 Yum! Three Four of us (my niece, his brother, and I plus Anyongi) finished the whole thing before it got cold. That means my first was a success, well, except that it wasn't really me who made it, haha!
My sister had a Thanksgiving get-together scheduled at 4 pm that day followed by dinner, but we didn't have much to do because they had an arrangement with the caterers from the nearby restaurant. It is easier and less tedious that way. Besides, cooking isn't in my sister's and I's DNA, lol! Her daughter's an exception. The young lady has her own magical hands in the kitchen.
But yes, we still made sweet sticky rice balls. Unfortunately, no photos of the process were recorded on camera. It felt unnecessary then, but now I wish I had taken a few at least, including the part when the sweetened milk fillings were oozing out from most of the balls and we had to patch them up before they were put into the pot.
Anyway, by 3 pm, I left my niece to take charge of things, including receiving guests and the caterers as I had to get my Anyongi out of sight. He is not the most friendly pup. He growls at anyone new.
We took the bedroom on the third floor so he could not hear when people came in. Thought I'd keep him there while I rest and go down for the service, but then I dozed off. The last thing I remember was reading this children's book.😁
The wee fun we had in the kitchen with the pizza and the balls took a toll on me. I must be getting on, simple activities tire me out easily, haha! When I awoke, my Anyongi was curled beside me, and looking through the window, it was already dark outside.
People were already having dinner when I went downstairs which meant I missed the service. Oh la la! What a day that was! Well, at least I learned a thing or two about making pizza and sweet balls🤣
Until next time!
