Magandang buhay!
We had a windy but bright and beautiful Sunday. Yongi and I stepped outdoors around 4 in the afternoon for a wee break from snoozing and lazy-ing. The hubby wished we could join him to attend the wake of his distant relative some 30-minute drive away from here but I wasn't in my best self to be in the midst of people.
I needed more 'me' time, I said and was glad he did not insist.😊
The thing is that my parents had guests 3 days in a row while I was with them. It's nice that their friends and relatives show they care by checking on them, but the chitchats and such (3-4 hours each day, mostly around lunchtime until evening) sucked my energy and also Mom's. One time she got so tired of the chatters she discreetly placed a pillow over her head. I felt so sorry for her and silently wished I could shoo away their guests that instant.
Unfortunately, I can't. It's rude.
Anyway, Yongi and I headed to the back of the house. I carried him so he wouldn't run around and get dirty, lol!😅 Well, I just bathed him the other day.
While there, we basked in the sunshine for a while. The cool breeze was nice, it felt like a gentle caress on the face. It was almost sundown and the sun's rays glared I only managed to take this snap of the banana trees, grass, the temporary bird feeder, and the mountain in the background.
One of the trees is fruiting generously and is almost ready to harvest. We will have plenty of potassium soon! I don't know what variety it is but it's different from what we have in the Lil Kingdom.
The Canna was standing tall amongst the bushes near the banana trees. They are one of those resilient plants that live on even without care. We trim them often yet they quickly grow back. It's good though as they shield us from prying eyes.
We have yet to create a garden here in DD but we started growing some food like beans. Unfortunately, insects got to some of them first before we did.
The young cherry tomato survived the recent typhoon and started flowering so we may enjoy its fruits 2-3 months from now.🤞
The yard and the driveway are still a mess, so most things are on hold. The truth is we don't even have flowers! Perhaps one of these days, we will go home to the other place and pick a few.
Now I wonder how things are over there since we have not visited for over a month. I do miss the roses!
But yeah, we had a lovely time checking out the little things outside. It's crazy how it feels like we have been here for a long time when we only moved in the middle of July and we had been coming and going.
The new week is upon us and with only 36 days left in the year, I intend to enjoy our stay because who knows one day soon, we will decide to pack our bags and go elsewhere.
Until then, we continue to create memories while we are here.
