Week 37 on SSC [Starving Mr. P]

in #hive-1679222 months ago

It's a bright Saturday morning and the folks of DD are yet to wake up. Only the gentle sound of the breeze and the gushing water in the river by the distance are heard. No vehicles are passing by and the neighbors down the property are quiet too. They do know how to take some time off. It's the weekend after all!

Meanwhile, things are warming up in our lil abode. A hot breakfast is almost ready and soon after the meal, we will be out and about once more for many things. We do find joy and fulfillment in them so all good! But before that, let me give some moments for my on-chain progress for week 37th in the Saturday Savers Club.

The truth is, I was tempted not to do an update today but dismissed the thought knowing it would feed Mr. P's appetite. He lingers on and is always ready to take any opportunity he gets presented with. What a sneaky devil, so we are trying our best to starve him to death, lol!

The good thing is that I have adjusted to the routine of being in front of my pc early in the morning before anything else comes so things are not that challenging anymore.

Anyway, here's how the week on-chain has been in terms of our goals and numbers:

Having a new target of 25k by year-end, my staked HIVE (HP) has grown by 241 HP ending at 23,425 (23,184 last week). With 16,400 HP on the 1st of January this year, there had been over 7k HP added to the account's Hive Power to date (about 42% growth) — curation, manually powered up, and content rewards helped with that which is awesome frackin' sauce as BradleyArrow used to say.😀 I like the fact that as our HP grows, so do our curation rewards.

As to my staked LEO (LP), 100 LEO was added during the week, bringing the balance to 21,066 LP (14,638 + 6,431). We started with 26,150 in January and did an unstaking of 10k LP on my alt in May, hence the drop in the overall staked amount but we are building it up again. It sure feels sweeter the second time around!

The HBD Savings, on the other hand, grew by 33 in the last seven days from 1,272 to 1,305. The interest (15.65) came 5 days ago which was added to it. If we trade between HBD and HIVE in the market now and then, the gains would be better (most likely) than keeping the HBD locked up on savings, but then, it's nice to think I have a little stash somewhere with this, and it earns passively too! Who knows if one day, it grows big enough to pay for a cow. How cool that would be!

Well, there's no harm in dreamin' while wide awake😅

Overall, week 37 has been good and we are grateful as always. We are excited to enjoy the weekend over errands and stuff as we look forward to how the next seven days unfold. Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Best wishes for you dear. Shine like the morning.

Oh hello, Luci! It's great to see you again. How have you been?

Thank you btw :)

I'm all good dear

Hello friend, your growth update is always an encouragement. I think I need to put more hands on deck to stack more. What's your advise and strategy?

Hello fren, I'm sorry that I haven't responded to this before. It's only now that I get to sit down and sift through my notifs and post comments.

As to strategies for building your stacks, I think it depends on what you really want to achieve and how you plan on getting there. In my case, I don't like too much pressure so I try to build slowly yet steadily. I buy HIVE in small amounts (5s and 10s) using my HBD rewards and power up 1 or more each day.

Looking for ways to be earning more hives and Leo token daily for reinvestment.
Adding to this, what's the advantage or differences between power up and delegation (still having only oversight knowledge).
Where can I delegate to in case I want to. Thanks

What's the difference between a taxidermist and a tax collector?
A taxidermist takes only your skin.

It goes with the flow, hehe. Many thanks, Inti. Happy weekend to you.

I've recently set some new Hive and HBD goals for myself and it's inspiring to follow along on your journey. Growth is slow and steady but when you look back over the course of months or years you see it starts to really add up.

I wish you the best as you work toward your goals. Slow and steady growth is great, especially when you set your sights on the long term. It doesn't pressure you :)

Pressure is a good thing!

Oh yes. Although it can be overwhelming for some, hehe

The photo of the Sun filtering through the trees is beautiful and congratulations on your progress.

Thank you, Edith. My apologies for this late reply :)
