Hello from a beautiful Sunday, hope all is well my fellow gamers! Today I'm going to share with you one of the most fun TFT games I've played lately, so get ready to get in shape! Pun on words ;)
You can watch the gameplay here without commentary:
The portal for this game is Champion Conference. So at the beginning of each stage you get a champion that matches your team. It is a very ideal portal to make your legendary champions 2 stars, especially in the late game.
If you've been following me before, you might guess that I'm going to choose the Spoils of War augment here, but since I wanted to play Shapeshifter this game, I chose the Eternal Growth augment. Shapeshifter champions that start combat adjacent to each other gain 30 health permanently. So if somehow the game goes to stage 7, all my Shapeshifter champions will gain 900 health. That's a huge boost considering that they will gain much more when they use abilities!
I was off to a great start, but I lost the last fight and didn't go on a winning streak, which is frustrating but not a problem.
As a silver add-on, Pandora's Bench is one of my favorites. This add-on allows you to find the champions you're looking for very quickly if you're lucky. If you are unlucky, you can suffer a lot.
The mid-game went much better than I expected. I managed to go on a 4-win streak and the Pandora's Bench augment I chose helped me find a Varus.
As the last augment I found something I couldn't refuse, the Shapeshifter crest, which allows me to activate 8 Shapeshifter trait and a champion I gave this crest to as a super tank.
I will admit that I am lucky! I managed to find a Smolder and this champion will be one of my main carriers. In the first battle I placed him on the board he dealt 6300 damage! Smolder's best items are Guinsoo's Rageblade, Infinity Edge and Giant Slayer. Of course, since I'm making him a Shapeshifter right now, I gave him 2 of these 3 items, and my side carry will be Varus for now. I will have one more main carrier in the future and you will see it soon!
In the middle of phase 5, I reached level 9 and managed to complete my composition. From now on, all I need to do is to make my champions 2 stars. Briar, who doesn't look like my main carrier yet, will make a lot more difference once he has a few items and becomes a 2-star.
Even at only 1 star, Smolder is very strong and enough to carry me. Of course, since 8 Shapeshifter champions are very tanky, we save a lot of time in the fight. I chose Swain as the main tank but probably Nasus 2 stars would be much better. I made this choice because I am very confident that I will make Swain 3 stars.
What did I tell you before? Briar is much stronger than other champions after 2 stars, and even at 1 star he is very useful with his ability. He is currently the most damaging champion on my team.
This guy was playing mage and he looks extremely strong. I barely beat him even though I picked one of the strongest runes in the game. I need a lot more support...
What? WTF? What could the person who can beat me so heavily in a single fight be playing? Since he had 5 Preserver and I had no burn items, he beat me by regenerating a lot of health. Even though the dragons prevented him from regenerating health, I guess it wasn't enough. Luckily I came 2nd and that's good, right? If I didn't have such a strong opponent, or at least if I had 2 star Smolder and 3 star Swain, maybe I could have won.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to share your thoughts with me in the comments. Take care and have a great day!
