A few days ago I was surprised by the visit of a very dear friend who has been living in Egypt for several years. Just talking about the reunion, after such a long time, revives all the emotions I felt when we met again and embraced each other. Undoubtedly, friendship is one of the most intense and lasting feelings that human beings can feel.
That first night we decided to look for a quiet place where we could eat, laugh and talk about the thousand stories that we girls always have to tell. Since we were very close to the busy historic center of the capital, we decided to visit the terrace of the Iberostar Grand Packard hotel, a tourist facility located at the intersection of Paseo del Prado and Malecon streets in Havana.
Hace algunos días me sorprendió la visita de una amiga muy querida que vive hace varios años en Egipto. Solo hablar del reencuentro, después de tanto tiempo, revive todas las emociones que sentí cuando nos vimos nuevamente y nos abrazamos. Sin dudas, la amistad es de los sentimientos más intensos y duraderos que podemos sentir los seres humanos.
Esa primera noche decidimos buscar algún lugar tranquilo donde poder comer, reír y conversar de las mil historias que las chicas siempre tenemos para contar. Como estábamos muy cerca del concurrido centro histórico de la capital, decidimos visitar la terraza del hotel Iberostar Grand Packard, instalación turística que está ubicada en la confrontación de las calles Paseo del Prado y Malecón, en la ciudad de La Habana.
I like the position of this hotel very much, and in addition to the architectural modernity that characterizes it, it has a privileged location due to its proximity to the Malecon. That night I was even able to listen closely to the iconic 9 o'clock cannon shot, which sounds every night in Havana 365 days a year.
The atmosphere of the place is very pleasant because it is enlivened by a piped music with the right volume; the service staff is made up of young and friendly guys; and you can enjoy both open-air and air-conditioned areas.
La posición de este hotel me gusta mucho, y además de la modernidad arquitectónica que lo caracteriza, tiene una ubicación privilegiada por su cercanía al Malecón. Incluso esa noche pude escuchar de cerca el icónico cañonazo de las 9, que suena cada noche en La Habana los 365 días del año.
El ambiente del lugar es muy agradable porque está amenizado por un hilo musical con el volumen adecuado; el personal de servicio está integrado por chicos jóvenes y amables; y se puede disfrutar de áreas tanto al aire libre como climatizadas.
The interior space is characterized by a range of colors that play mainly between white, blue and yellow, in harmony with the lighting that allows them to stand out. In this area the furniture moves between two designs: the first one is composed of low-back sofas with the 3+2 set and chaise longue sofa. On the other hand, it has a set of chairs, located for groups of 6 pax, which imitate a plastic material, and are adorned in its center with low tables in rectangular shape.
The walls are decorated with surrealistic images of women with loose hair, and are protected by transparent vinyl plates that give volume to the walls.
El espacio interior se caracteriza por una gama de colores que juegan fundamentalmente entre el blanco, azúl y amarillo, en consonancia con la iluminación que permite resaltarlos. En esta área el mobiliario se mueve entre dos diseños: el primero de ellos integrado por sofás de respaldo bajo con el conjunto 3+2 y sofá chaise longue. Por otra parte, tiene unos juegos de sillas, ubicados para grupos de 6 pax, que imitan un material plástico, y son adornados en su centro con mesas bajas en forma rectangular.
Las paredes están decoradas con imágenes surrealistas de mujeres de melena suelta, y tienen como protección, placas de vinilos transparentes que le confieren volumen a las mismas.

Y mucho que fue acertada esta decisión: la brisa estaba perfecta para refrescar la noche de verano y la piscina infinita muestra una variedad de colores por los constantes cambios de los colores de las luces, que transmite idea de movimiento.
Outside they have two bars to offer the cocktail bar, a larger one where the client can also sit to place his service order; and a smaller one in a circular shape with the image of the well-known Cuban rum brand Havana Club.

In the outdoor area, the variety of furniture that can be found is very nice, and goes in line with the functionality and services offered.

I liked the visit to this place very much, because in addition to the entertaining time I spent, I enjoyed a very nice design that motivated me to review, in future publications, the rest of the hotel.
