Good evening to my esteemed friends on the Deep Dives platform! It's a beautiful day to share with you news from Ukraine and how the war has progressed.
It's obvious that the war in Ukraine is getting intensed on a daily basis and with the offensive and counteroffensive operations in different Ukrainian cities both warring states needs re-enforcements to help them remain fit, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry have made progress in this area.
As at today's report the Ukrainian Interior Ministry have mobilized 40k new brigade for training to enable them fight against the Russian military offensives.
More than a year into Russia's full-scale invasion, Aleks, a translator with no prior military experience, was advancing through forest with rifle raised, training to ambush enemy forces in one of Ukraine's newest military units.
Border of Steel is one of eight new storm brigades totalling 40,000 soldiers that Ukraine wants to use during a counter-offensive against Russian occupiers in coming weeks or months.
Most of the new brigade said they want the war to be over as quick as possible and they believe that the storm brigade will actualize this soon.
The units have benefited from an aggressive recruiting campaign on social media and billboards with the aim of attracting highly motivated volunteers.
Recruiting new soldiers is a good idea but I have one major challenge with this at the moment. This is because of the quality of the new brigade personnel in terms of combat and counter-offensive operations. The atmosphere of recruiting these soldiers isn't the usual one that helps them gain much experience before moving into the battlefield.
Although this recruitment becomes urgent as the Ukrainian military needs backups to help them face and overpower the Russian huge military force. The Ukrainian military have loss most of their soldiers to Russia's attacks in cities like and this has made them to resort to recruitment of the new brigade to help in the counter-offensive operations.
The new brigades, drafted by the Interior Ministry, will fight alongside regular army units bolstered by new Western battle tanks and thousands of fresh troops trained by allied armies outside Ukraine.
The new brigade has only one mission, which is to help liberate Ukraine from the Russians and that's the mindset they're using to engage the war.
Klymenko said it would take up to four months to train civilians without experience, but that ex-police officers or soldiers could be trained in two.
Klymenko said 2.5% of the brigades were made up of female fighters: "Our women are patriotic enough, strong and they hate the enemy no less than men, they want to serve."
New recruit Vakha, 21, was initially drafted into the army, but requested to be transferred to the Border of Steel, he said.
He praised the training on offer and said he thought it would provide a more rapid route to the east where the fiercest fighting is raging.
I'll conclude this post by saying that this could be a very good idea to raise backups for the troops at the front, but with little experience on major battles such as this, the lives of the recruits might be in danger due to the offensive weapons used by the Russian military. Also, most of the new brigade soldiers are fighting to revenge for the atrocities done to their cities by the Russians but revenge isn't a good reasons to join the brigade, I think being patriotic should've been the best reasons for joining.
Thank you!
