Mt Robson and 4k Followers

in #hive-1949133 years ago

This is perhaps my most viral image. It got something like 500k likes on FB and I ended up negotiating a deal with BC Tourism for them to use it as part of their promotions. I spend a lot of time seeking shots in very remote places, hiking long distances in the mountains or frozen tundra, 4WDin though the desert, sailing to tiny islands in far away places in the tropics. But the irony of this shot being my most successful is that I took just on the side of the road hand held on a regular drive up to Jasper. I love this stretch of road, perhaps the best in North America. I think that is why it resonated so well as lots of people have seen this view, just not framed like this.

Oh and I hit 4k followers here on Hive after a little over 4 years on the platform. Which seems like something to celebrate ;-)

Hope everyone is well. I will try and get back to posting here more regularly. To be honest I have been feeling quite flat these past few weeks. Life seems to be in grind mode and a bit of a drag. After five years away adventuring regular life working is not really cutting though to the core as I would like it to. Something like adventure withdrawal syndrome.

If you would like to learn a little bit more about my background in photography you can read the interview @photofeed did with me here.

Congrats on 4K follower and beautiful shot Robert!

That is an amazing shot! love it!

That's a beauty Robert. I don't remember having you on my shoulders when I took my Robson photo ;).

Such an awesome picture. It really shows off the massive size of that mountain.

Thanks mate. It is a crazy mountain. Hope your family has recovered from all its corona sagas.

.

Congrats on 4k here! That's like...400k on IG 😅

This is just a different kind of adventure. An adventure through monotony.

Well, even if it was simple for you it's still a very nice shot, doesn't surprise me in the least that it went viral.

and also looks like you were standing in the middle of the road even though you said you were on the side, and given there's a vehicle approaching I've decided to stick with my head-canon of you standing in the middle of the road, snapping this quickly and then scurrying off to the side back to your car so you don't get run over XP

Well done on 4k followers :D

I feel the grind modes are kind of normal phases even if you haven't been spending so much time adventuring, hopefully it doesn't last too much longer :)

or that you find something else that you're a bit more into

lol yes I was standing in the middle of the road. parked on the side of the road at least
