Can I have some attitude, Please!!!

in #hive-1976852 years ago

I had been following the journey of the MasterChef contestants. (It is one of the ways I waste my time and to be honest I like it. That show presents me with an opportunity to learn new skills and makes me open my swiggy app and order something from some unknown restaurant.) I was watching the semifinals of the show when one of the celebrity judges said something that hit me with a very different note.

She said “Chef Coat pahnene se Chef wala attitude nahi aata, Chef ke attitude wale ko hi coat milta hain.” (Eng Trans. - You won't develop a chef’s attitude just by wearing the chef’s coat, You need to develop the attitude to earn the chef’s coat). This is what she said to a semi-finalist, who was struggling with his task.

Even though I heard this about 3 weeks back. Not a single day goes by when I don't repeat it to myself. What a powerful mantra. And today I realised that this is so much in line with what Baba Ranchordas said in the 3Idiot movie. “Kaabil bano, Kamiyaabi jhak maarke pheeche aayegi.” (Be Capable, and excellence will follow).

I know a lot of people who say, I will learn resource management once I get promoted. I will start my business once I collect enough capital. I will write a book once I improve my writing skill. I am one of them. My personal to-do list is so long that Excel ran out of rows to accommodate them. Jokes aside, I wanted to have a restaurant on the Andaman Islands, This is a stupid dream of mine that is there in the back of my mind. But so far the only thing I manage to do towards making that dream a reality is decided to have no floor. The restaurant will be directly on the beach no floor work just straight-up sand. Whenever I think of the restaurant, The first thing that comes to my mind is I don't have enough, let me earn enough money to start the business and then I will revisit the plans. How can I be an owner of a restaurant, when my mindset and attitude is still of a mediocre office bug.

And we all know that we are guilty of the same. We take up tasks for which we are not mentally prepared and hope that the task will force us to change and adapt. I am not sure if the strategy works for anyone. If you are reading this and hoping to hear a solution, you are wrong. I am also searching for answers here. How can I develop the mindset of a restaurant owner? How can I develop the mindset of an ace programmer? How can I develop the mindset of a successful writer?

I am inuke,
Signing off with a Lots of questions and no real answer to show for it. Please let me know how you deal with the attitude crisis in your life.

Before I go, I would like to thank the IndiaUnited community and BeAwesome community for all their love, support and encouragement.

I don't know about mindset specifically but I always figured if you want to do a thing just...do the thing.

You may or may not have to break the thing down into smaller chunks and subchunks and possibly subsubchunks and beyond to do.

Haha, you always had the warrior or spartan attitude. 🤣

if you want to do a thing just...do the thing.

I fear giving up on things halfway😅. Wish there was a cure for that.

Would you rather try and fail (and learn from your mistakes and refine the process and try again and make some new and different mistakes along with successes big and small rinse repeat) or not try at all and wonder if you could have succeeded or look back wishing that you had just done it?

The first one seems like a lot of work. But the second one is baggage I don't want to carry.
I wish there was a third option.

What about you @ryivhnn san, how do you find the motivation to keep going? You know sometimes I talk to myself and even ask why I got myself into trouble or a situation. But that's all my alter ego is a bigger idiot than me.

Anything worth doing is generally a lot of work. If you're actually following a dream you'll enjoy most of it and some of it will be a hard slog. If it's all a hard slog, maybe re-evaluate XD and if the reality of your dream turns out to be a hard slog that you choose to discontinue, it would only have been a waste of time if you somehow managed to learn nothing at all from it (which would be quite an achievement given that at the very least you would have learned that the reality varied greatly from the fantasy and that maybe you didn't enjoy it as much as you thought you would).

The project I write progblogs about that never seems to go anywhere at any speed I've been literally working on for the last 20 years XP

I don't actually know how to answer the motivation question. I just do stuff that I want to do and drop stuff that I either don't want to do anymore or very reluctantly drop it because logistics kind of get in the way a lot lately ^_^; The only thing I really have to motivate myself to do is housework because I have an infinite amount of infinitely better things to do than that XD

I have watched 12 seasons of MasterChef Australia! It's my go to show when I have time for TV!

That is true, MasterChef has very less drama and a lot more entertainment when compared to other reality TV shows. NGL, every episode has at least one dish or technique which I would personally love to try.

Thank you for stopping by. ❤️☮️

Keep dreaming buddy and visualize yourself being and working there and keep putting one foot in front of another. That's the only thing you can do, right now but all little steps help...

I forgot how to do that. I mean visualization. I had been working and working long hr for several months now, with very little time for myself and Yesh. And I think all these hectic work schedules is affecting my creativity and other means of joy.

I am trying to bounce back let's see how that fares.

But I think I am going to be ok. Because you are here and you got my back.☮️❤️
