“Hey!!! What's Up?” inuke waved at me.
I ignored him. Any discussion with him gives me terrible headaches.
“New watch, ah?” inuke was trying to initiate a conversion.
I kept quiet. I was determined not to fall for his traps and pointless discussion.
“Ohhhh!!! The silent treatment. Good, Good. you are learning new things.” Inuke made another attempt to start.
‘Ha, you have no idea about my mental strength. You ‘piece of imagination’. I will make you suffer.’ I smiled. This was a small victory that I was enjoying.
“Wow!! You are really good at this. Who taught you? Your Wife?” inuke poked the bear with this statement.
“Aye!!! Bloody A##@#$. Why you like this? Huh?” I reacted immediately, wishing only if had the power to punch my imagination.
“Woah Woah Woah... I meant it as a compliment. Bro. Relax.” Inuke replied.
“Well!! Your compliments need some work. Now get lost.” I tried to shut him out.
“Ah!! A lot of things are work in progress… You tell me..” Inuke asked.
I glanced at my watch again.
“I don't understand is it a new watch? This is the third time you checked your watch in the last 5mins.” inuke asked.
By this point, I surrendered to my fate.
“No da, I am just waiting for the time to pass” I answered.
“Ah!! Very nice. Yahan baith kar time waste kar, uske baad Time management par gyan maang.” inuke replied with an attitude. [Eng Translation - First you waste time, and then ask around tips on how to manage]
“Arey Nah!! I am just waiting for the Rahu kaal to be over.” I explained the waiting.
I understood from the dumb look that inuke had on his face that he has no Idea what Rahu Kaal is. So I decided to enlighten him on the subject.
‘Rahu Kaal is considered to be inauspicious according to Hindu astrology. Meaning the task may not bear the desired result or may fail. That is why Hindu people try to avoid starting a new business, journey, deals, anything auspicious or scared at that time.”
“Whattt!!!!” inuke gave me the expression that I usually have after listen to his crazy ideas.
“Yeah! You don't start something that is important or auspicious during Rahu Kaal. You know there is an interesting story behind this rahu kaal.”
“Aye Hold on!!” inuke stopped me before getting into the story. “Aisa kaunsa bada teer marne jaa rahe the jo aapko rahu kaal dekhna pada.” [Eng Trans - And what would be the big new thing you were gonna start after the Rahu kaal]
I pointed at the pirated version of the ebook ‘Trading for dummies’.
Inuke gave me a look that was a cross between disappointment and disgust. And proceeded to lecture me.
“First of all, why you are downloading the pirated version of anything when the original is available at ereader and secondly, please do explain how is reading a book a new thing?” inuke asked.
“Reading book is not the new thing, learning about the stocks is.” I replied.
“I liked you when you were quite.. Uff!! Ok tell me how is learning about stock is a new thing.” inuke asked.
“”Yeah!! Well!!.. Ummm… Actualllllyyy. The book is new.” I failed to provide with a reason.
“So! You were just slacking off. Without doing anything.?” inuke asked.
“Well I dont feel like reading anything? Its just i said I will start from today. But looks like I failed.” I replied.
“You are quick to label yourself. See it's simple not all days going to be the same. You can't give 100% every day that is impractical and pushing for 100% is ok but you have to account for your condition too. Self-help is okay, but self-care is also important too. All I am saying is just don't be the guy who is too tired to celebrate his own victory. Enjoy the process of learning, if you treat it like a work or office project. It is going to be tiresome and eventually, you will give up.” Inuke explained the problem to me.
“So what should I do? I am supposed to be reading the book but I dont feel like reading it now.”
“Ok do you intent to read the entire thing in one sitting? No naa!!. Is there a test tomorrow? No Naa!!! Then what is troubling you so much? I don't understand. You can do whatever you want. But you chose to behave like a schoolkid. Pfff!!!.. Arey Yaar. Haven't you heard ‘Good Things Take Time’. Give it time, today may not be your day give it a try tomorrow if you fail there is always a day after. Enjoy the process Machiii!!!” inuke went into full enlightenment mode.
After spending good 5mins analysing the event. I replied.
“I guess you are right. I shouldn’t be hammering my personal project. And should give it sufficient time. Will try tomorrow again. Wont be doing any reading.”
I paused for a moment.
“I dont feel like calling it a day though you up for the story of the Rahu Kaal.” I asked inuke.
“You know I give the vibes that I know all the stories. But this one I am not sure. Please tell..” inuke asked me for a the story.
Hello Everyone,
That's all for today, That's been another one of the pointless posts.
Actually, it is not entirely pointless from my POV as I learned that self-care is important. We have been taught to monitor what we say to others but we must also keep a check on the self talk. (Not talking about the conversation between me and inuke, that is just for fun.) All I am trying to say is that it is okay to be human, People call Sachin a god and he got out more than 15 times in Zero. So It is ok if you fail to give 100% today there is always a tomorrow and a day after.
