Hey folks, Before I start with my rant or rambling. I wish you all a happy new year. May this year bring joy, happiness and peace to the world. Inuke won't be joining in today's post, he said something he shouldn't have. So, I tied and gagged him.
Muffled noises from the background
When I was a kid, It always pained me to see homeless people on the road. I used to wonder why can’t more people help them. Every time I got different answers from people around me. Some were philosophical like Karma. Some time more harsh like it's their poor decisions in life. Greed, poor economy, Scams in NGOs and probably a hundred other reasons. But I get it now. I had been earning for almost a decade now and half that time I was in debt and most of the remaining half was spent on keeping myself fed and a roof on my head. With no clear plan or vision for the future. I can say that I am doing ok now and able to manage better but the future still scares me.
inuke is trying to speak through the gag
It is not easy to make charity when you planned to the last paise. I am not sure how society will tackle this problem and there is no feasible solution to this problem also. The only thing society has been able to do so far is to birth NGOs and ‘No Comments’. I am very skeptical of them, Already had my fair share when an environment NGO, I am not going to name turned out to be something that they are not and my charity went to something else. The point is I was not able to contribute to helping the unfortunate.
inuke struggled. The Gag came off
“Get to the bloody point Maccha. Don’t bore them.” Inuke scream.
I sighed. “Fine”
“Yeah!! You wish them Happy New Year and then start to depress them... Kya bakwas hain?” [English Translation - What nonsense is this?] inuke said.
“Theek hain, Jo mann mein aaye kar” [Eng Translation - Have it your way?]
So, folks. You can help the .. unfortunate people too. Money is not the only thing that can solve the problem. You can also contribute by volunteering time and skills to support the cause. To put it in a sentence "Be the change you want to see in the world". Everyone is free and entitled to their opinion and narrative of the situation on why they are not contributing. You are too. But whenever you feel like ‘Why is there no one helping these people? Remember you are talking about yourself too? Why are you not helping?’
There is a saying in Hindi ‘Neeki kar aur dariya mein dal’ meaning do good deeds and don't expect anything in return ("Do good deeds and cast them into the river." is the literal translation)
But I say before putting your deeds in dariya, tell people and share. So that it can inspire and create awareness among others too. See not everyone is greedy, maybe they don't know how to do a charity or help someone.
This is the first post of the year. I wanted to write about my achievement in 2023 even though there were none. Instead, I decided to write about helping others. I arranged for breakfast at an orphanage yesterday. Thanks to @bala41288 for introducing me to the Sushaanti Seva. I have known them since 2018 and last year also donated blankets to the orphanage thanks to @sayee for collecting funds and trusting me with them. I am not asking for a donation, But I will ask you to donate something somewhere. It can be anything from volunteering in the community kitchen or donating old clothes, Shoes, Blankets or books to the organisation you trust. Do good deeds and tell others. No shame in that. HIVE is a great platform to share. You can also drop a comment on how you helped.
This post is a little different from my usual nonsense as this is not nonsense. I will be getting back to that shortly.
Special thanks to India United and BeAwesome for all the love and support.
