"Bro!!! you still stuck at the same post?” Inuke asked referring to my panic mode from the previous post.
“I am not stuck. I am just working out the solution to a problem.” I replied.
“Which problem?” inuke asked.
I showed inuke the workbook.
“Yo!!! What is this?” inuke was shocked, Awed and worried all at the same time.
“Solution. Why???” I replied.
“Why? Dude!!! you are using a workbook that has data going up to column ‘AE’. And all of this is manual work. You are better off filling out stupid surveys and fighting AI than doing whatever this is..” Something stopped inuke midsentence.
“Are you ok?” inuke asked with genuine concern.
“I am fine. I guess.” I replied.
“You don’t look ‘fine’” Inuke commented on my looks. Dark Circles, sleepy and tired eyes.
“I am tired and I need to sleep, But I can’t. Having nightmares again for the past two days.”
“Again??? You should get that checked. A grown man shouldn’t be having nightmares.” Inuke seems concerned about my health.
“Yeah!! Don't worry about it. I will think of something for this too.” I replied.
“Still doesn’t explain this mess. What are you trying to do with this?” inuke pointed to the workbook.
“I am trying to categorize my expenses and capture it into small pieces for better tracking.” After spending almost an hour on the workbook, even I was having trouble understanding what I was trying to achieve.
“What’s wrong with the previous tracker?” inuke asked referring to my expense sheet from 2023.
“It was ok. But I needed more insight.” I tried justifying my actions.
“Hmm, Let's take a look.” Inuke started going through the workbook. “Hmm, Hmm, Okay, Okay.”
But the okeis turned into ‘huh’s and ‘What!!!!”
“Dude, just tell me how the Swiggys Order number going to fit in you planning your budget. Also, why is there a separate column for Zomato, Zepto and Instamart? They all are the same thing ‘Online Expenses’. You already have a category for all this, why are turning simple things complicated? This workbook looks like work of devil or a sadistic accountant.” inuke reviewed my work.
“I mean, It would help me plan..” I was interrupted.
“What exactly!!!? Please do explain.” Inuke stopped.
“Actually, monitor my expenses and plan accordingly.” I tried explaining.
“Hold on.!! Open that sheet from Nov2023.” Inuke asked me to go to a tab of the expense sheet
I opened the sheet.
“Now, go to summary.” Inuke asked.
I followed his instructions.
“What you see here?” inuke asked.
“It says, Expense category wise. Rent, Debt, Commute, Groceries, Medical Bills, Utilities, Misc, Shopping” I read out loud.
“Simple and effective. This is the month when you realise that you are paying way too many transactions in the groceries and decide to switch to bulk ordering in on go. We didn’t need the order number then, why do you need it now?” inuke asked.
“I am not sure. I thought..” I was interrupted again by inuke.
“You didn’t, you started working directly. Tell me what’s bothering you. Maybe I can help. This looks like you are trying to keep yourself busy or avoiding work. Knowing you I think its the latter.” inuke asked.
“Fine!!! I don’t have anything good to do. Naa!! That’s not true. I do have things pending with me. But I don’t feel like doing that.” I explained my boredom to inuke.
“Any of the pending task is important or critical?” inuke asked
‘Actually, no. They are just trivial things. And not doing is also fine.” I explained with a small smile.
“THEN GET SOME REST YOU ASS. YOU SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING FUN OR RELAXING WHY THE F#@K YOU ARE TORTURING YOURSELF WITH THIS BULLSHIT. IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO, THERE IS THE BED, GO THERE LIEDOWN WITH EYE CLOSED. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS OR ANY SCREEN..” inuke screamed his lungs out.
