I think we all agree that most sunset view has always succeeded hypnotized us with their beauty. The golden and/or reddish skies are part of the beauty of nature. The presence of other objects whether it's alive or not will give another value to those views.
Back to a couple of months ago, I and my workmates (one of them is @teukuboyhaqie) go to have a rest after work on Gampong Jawa Beach. This place was located just around 3 kilometers away from our office. We went there by car and by the time we almost arrive at our destination, the traffic was getting busier. That situation happened because this beach is one of the people's favorite places to see the sunset in Banda Aceh.
What is special about this place is not only about the sunset view. We will also have a chance to see some fishermen pulling up beach seine and their boat. As I mentioned before in the first paragraph, this will give another value to the sunset view.
According to the local people, the fishermen did this almost every day. They only don't carry it out if the weather is bad. I do not understand the mechanism of this beach seine, but I know that the fish caught using this instrument was mostly jackfish.
If I'm not mistaken, there were 5 men involved in pulling up the beach seine. They also neatly arrange the seine and put it on the boat. As they were working, the visitor (including me) approach them to have a clear view of how they worked on it. As they almost finish pulling up the beach seine, they postpone it and start to pull the boat to the land. They have to do this because there is no port on the beach, and if they anchor the boat on the waters, they will need to keep an eye on it all night long.
It needs a lot of people to pull the boat because it's quite heavy. To concentrate their energies, they push from the back of the boat one at a time. As the boat is completely out from the waters, they make a rail using two flat wood and an areca nut tree trunk to pull it far away from the tidal area. As the boat is completely on the land and far away from the tidal area, the fishermen continue to pull up and arrange the seine neatly. After everything is done, they left it on the boat and went back to their houses.
I love to see the activity combined with the sunset background. I am also so lucky because the sun didn't get blocked by the clouds. I spent some more time enjoying the sunset view after the fishermen finish their job that afternoon. As time goes by, the sun was getting low and lower. The clouds started to block the sun, but I still love the view of it. What a beautiful moment to close the day from the hustle and bustle of the works.
All the pictures were taken by myself using iPhone XR. I do make some adjustments using Adobe Lightroom to bring out the color of pictures.
