Greetings dear community, today I am happy to present my Pirate Macaw amigurumi project, in which I worked for three days, I am really excited as in each of my works, but with this one I feel great satisfaction because it is something that I had been in my mind for a long time and I didn't think I could do it, every time the challenge is completed you feel that energy of wanting to move forward and have new ideas to carry out. I hope you like it.
Proceso / Process
I worked with red, white, blue, yellow, gray and black acrylic yarn, crochet hook #4 (1.25 mm), large eyelet needle, anti-allergic acrylic fiberfill and scissors, I also used two beads for the eyes, to embroider I used white yarn sewing. I started making the body from the head, that's why you see the images in that orientation, I changed to white color only in the face area, then I continued the body that has a shape with many curves, this type of body seemed like a challenge but every day I have more confidence in the use of increases and decreases that allow me to create more organic figures.
The next thing I did was the beak, this is made in two parts, the first is the gray part that is stuffed and sewn on, while the second gray with white part is sewn on top of the first.
The tail and the wings are made differently, making each piece separately and in the corresponding color and then superimposing them on the body and sewing them.
For the legs I made the fingers in a differentiated way with only 4 stitches in an initial ring, in this way I was able to introduce wire inside so that the Macaw could hold on to the finger or any object such as a branch.
I must be honest with you, at first I only thought of making a common macaw, but after seeing the result I felt that it would look cute if it were a pirate macaw, so I made the wide-brimmed pirate hat, embroidering a pirate skull on it 😁
