Hey everyone, I am here with this light bulb idea. Actually, light bulb isn’t that bright so I could say i am here with a sunlight idea since it is very bright and cannot be turned off by a switch. The sun has been the for a very long time, and if there was a switch to turn it off, then it meant it would take 8 minutes and 20 seconds before we know that the sun is out of light. Around the universe, there are billions of stars scattered everywhere but at the center of our solar system is one which is known as the SUN.
This is because the earth orbits the sun at an average 150 million kilometers away and light travels at 300 thousand kilometers per seconds, so it would take 8:20 minutes for photons of light from the sun to toich on earth. Let’s not forget that our sun is about 4.6 billion years old in the milky way known as Orion Spur brought together by the collapsing of dust and gas to form the solar nebula which condensed into a burning ball of gas.
Do you know every photon of light that is emited to our dear earth had been created since the time of mammoths and it takes a second from the core to the surface. Photons of the sun are byproduct of nuclear reaction in the sun core. The photons are hydrogen nuclei fused together to gove helieum nuclei in a process known as thermonuclie fusion. Our sun is made up of about 91% hydrogen, 8.9% helium, and 0.1% heavy metals including carbon and nitrogen.
The niclei reaction in the core of the sun is emitted as gamma ray and as the photons are released and travel in the cor of the sun, they lose energy until it becomes visible light that is able to leave the sun. The core of the sun has a temperature of 27 million degrees Fahrenheit. It is the temperature that causes the fusing of hydrogen to become helium.
It is very difficult for this photon to come out of the sun’s core as the photon has to random walk and to random walk 690 million meters from the core to the surface at light speed would be about 170 thousand years. From this calculation, it means that the movement of photons has a lot of mathematics to be done. This is because the sun isn’t just hard in the middle and soft at the surface, it is made up different regions from the corona being the outermost part, followed by the chromosphere, then the photosphere, followed by the convective and rediative zones, before we get to the core.
Almost everything in our world uses random motion from the smell of coffee spreading in the air, to vapor movement, and so on, it all uses random motion known as Brownian motion. For sunlight, the random motion of photons is responsible for the life that exists and with the photons, time really doesn’t count with light.
