Time flies so fast, everything just passes by so easily. Falling leaves, blowing wind, and the spinning earth and the earth orbiting the sun seem to be at the speed of light. My life is the same, from a worker to now a farmer. It has been going on for 8 years, that's my life.
It still feels very memorable in my mind how I started out as a small hydroponic farmer, a business that I never even thought of before became something I liked. Not because of the material, but being able to share information with many people. Including students and anyone who studies and comes to my house. This is the part that I really like about the process of becoming a farmer.
But, life is not always easy and just goes by like that, maybe because it has been passed so it feels lighter. Of course with the many pros and cons of hydroponics, but I can survive. Like the weather which is also an obstacle and various diseases and pests that attack, all have been passed and know how to survive.
One other thing is about the weather that changes so quickly. Even in the past week, the rain suddenly disappeared and all there was was the sun shining very hot, until some of my plants dried up and their leaves were completely burnt. Even though it was under a mango tree, the mango tree had also started to burn.
The only thing that survived here was the pepper plant that had never been harvested since it was in this pot. There were a lot of fruits but making pepper edible took a long and tiring process, so I just left it and covered some of them until they became pepper seeds that would be sold. Everyone needs practical and easy things, right?
Eggplant! Last week it was still very small and now it has grown bigger, it is ready to be harvested but unfortunately I don't like eggplant, it tastes strange. Usually there are neighbors who always ask for this eggplant but they haven't come yet, so just wait.
The dry leaves came from red chili plants and also local cayenne peppers that are super hot. The leaves were already damaged by burning, it seems like a combination of the hot sun and the roots that were starting to rot were the main factors. But, chilies are always like that, very difficult. If you get good seeds, they will last longer until several harvests.
The lettuce that is so small also has quite wide leaves. Lettuce is indeed the prima donna in my garden, although actually planting lettuce is quite complicated here, but, lettuce is the most profitable vegetable. The price is more expensive than other vegetables, that's why the price is much higher.
