Springtime is coming. So let me share with you my first spring experience in the Brittany area of France. I gave birth to my son during winter, but no snow yet. It was cold so I stayed at home all the time unless my husband asked me to go out of town.
I was happy that it was springtime. I was slowly recovering from my first pregnancy as it was traumatic. I had to eat a lot to regain the weight.
Seeing the blue sky was a bit refreshing. For how many months in autumn and winter, all I see were grey skies.
Of course, so happy to see flowers popping around outside of the window.
The Horses and a Donkey
My son was about three months, that was in May 2020. We were in our bed when I was surprised to see a horse and two donkeys passing by near our window. I was like, “Wow! I’ve never seen a donkey in my life as we don’t have that in the Philippines.” And that feeling that you are living on a farm.
Later, our neighbor knocked on our door as they discussed with my husband. Then she told me that we can see the donkeys and the horse in her grass field. The animals stayed only for a few days.
I never thought that I am living on a farm. The neighbors have big fields. I see cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and sometimes wild rabbits. I was like Alice in Wonderland when I saw a hare. Yes, it’s the big rabbit.
It was also Mother’s Day so I asked my husband to take several photos of me with Alexandre.
The Rapeseed Field
Since we live in the countryside, we see several fields and farms along the way. From afar, I see a yellow field and I was curious about what it was all about. The more we got nearer, we saw the yellow flowers. It’s called Rapeseed. There's even a farm near us with a Rapeseed field.
Seeing the field reminds me of the Mr. Bean episode which got stranded on the road near the Rapeseed field. I wanted to take photos of me in the field but we don’t have so much time. So I took some videos from my camera.
It was a good sight. How I wished I had some photography sessions here. Maybe next time.
The Chateau
There’s a castle near us so it’s good to do our afternoon walk. We came here during the autumn and spring season. But the spring season is more colorful as the sun is out with flowers on the ground.
The sky is blue, and in the field, I see green with little yellow flowers on the ground. It gives you a happy vibe. Oh yes, the sun is out. Unlike in autumn, the sky is gray and the photo looks so dull and sad.
I will blog more about the chateau for the next episodes of the Wednesday Walk challenge. This is just a sneak peek at what you can see around the farm.
All photos were taken with a mobile phone.
This is my entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge, hosted by @tattoodjay.
