I am having a little mini celebration over here. I can't really discuss what the celebration is about right now - however there are still many reasons to celebrate. So, for today's #ThreeTuneTuesday I thought I'd compile three of my favorite celebration songs and tell a little story behind each one. Thanks, as always, to @ablaze for putting together this wonderful opportunity for us to share songs with others on Hive.
Kool and the Gang - Celebration
I grew up in a rural-esque Indiana county that had about 50,000 people in it at the time I grew up. There was only one incorporated city in the county where approximately 30,000 of the 50,000 people lived. My rural high school served 4 communities+ from the northeastern part of the county and we didn't even get to 100 students per graduating class by the time I graduated. Near the end of my time in high school the town where the high school was physically located - the largest of our 4 communities - got a sewer system so we had a . . . Sewerbration. Since then, I cannot sing or hear Kool & The Gang's Celebration correctly ... Sewerbration Time just comes out (pun intended!)
Pharrell Williams - Happy
I cannot listen to this song without dancing. Whether stuck in a chair or up walking around, I start moving and grooving. The video is playing as I type this and I'm trying to type in rhythm with the music. Happiness is a truth and I know what Happiness is to me.
Pitbull - Celebrate
I LOVE the Penguins. They just make me chuckle every time I watch this video and now I may go watch Penguins of Madagascar for my evening entertainment. I've decided that this will be my official vacation start song from hence forth.
I keep these songs and many more on a Happy playlist...what's on your "Happy" playlist?
