I wasn't able to draw my entry last weekend, so I had to catch up on my drawing. I really wanted to create a really beautiful art piece for my entry for this week's Splinterlands Fan Art Contest, but my energy couldn't handle it anymore.
I've been quite busy with work, so I'm usually tired in the afternoon when I could have worked on my drawing.
So, my entry for this week is the Blackmoor Nymph, an earth element with a magic attack.
Although its magic attack is weak, it's nice to include it in the lineup because it has low mana consumption.
The first thing I did was sketch the pose I wanted for the Blackmoor Nymph. In Splinterlands Lore, she has a somewhat fierce face, so in my drawing, I made her look gentle.
I needed to make her seem like she's performing magic because she has a magic attack.
After finishing the outline, I started coloring. I based the colors I used on what the Blackmoor Nymph looks like in Splinterlands Lore.
I used a Watercolor brush for coloring, and after I colored the character, I gradually blurred it using the blur brush for blending.
This isn't my usual style, I just decided to try it now because I'm studying the winning entries in the weekly contest.
After coloring the character, I started working on the background. I just blended 2-3 colors using a textured brush to make it look nice.
I used an extracting lines effect for her magic blast and blurred its sides to make it look nice. I also changed the layer from normal to screen.
This is the result of my final artwork. I hope you like it.
