The Summoner Predictions Series:
So in the most recent Town Hall we got some JUICY previews for Earth and Death, so here's a Splinterlands Speculations for the Death Summoner, his name? Astral Entity.
I'm going to make multiple predictions for each of these, at least one prediction will assume that the Legendary Summoners are Invaders, and at least one will assume they are new Defenders. For those of you unaware of the Lore, the Chaos Legion is an evil invading force seeking to destroy Splinterlands and sacrifice it to their god... So there are now Summoners who are Defenders of Splinterlands, like Malric and Lyanna, and Summoners who are Invaders with Chaos Legion, like General Sloan and Tarsa.

Splinterlands Speculations: DEATH Edition
The Death summoners have always been pretty debuff centric, with their monsters being, seemingly weak, but through a myriad of buffs and debuffs, become competitive, and even completely overpower their enemies. Now, with Thaddeus, it pretty much stays the same, more debuffs.
So how do I see the new Legendary Death Summoner ending up?
MANA COST Speculation
The previous Legendaries have cost 3 Mana, 5 Mana, 7 Mana, and with Quix: 4 Mana. Going off of this pattern, I think we will either see a 4/6/8 Mana, to match up with Quix, or we will see 9 Manas to continue the trend of increasing Odd numbered. Because going to 9 would mean 4 Ability Summoners, I believe we are going to see a reset and the Legendaries are moving back to either 4 Mana or 8 Mana, depending on if they start with their Lower mana Summoners or higher. I will try to come up with 1 for each for DEFENDER/INVADER.
Because Quix is a lone Dragon Summoner, and there is ANOTHER Dragon Summoner coming in the Top 6, I believe that it is FAR more likely that these new summoners are the 8 Mana Variety
As a 4 Mana, I believe they would continue the format of Quix, in having 2 Abilities
As an 8 Mana summoner, I believe we will see 3 Abilities, like the 7 Mana summoners, but with ability spreads rivaling Llama and Yodin at minimum. If this is the case, this will be an absolutely wild set of airdrops (or should I say modern? yeah my jokes suck.)
Let's start with the offensive, Invader variant:
INVADER Speculation
4 Mana Version: Cleanse Magic
Death has always gained the Magic oriented defenses first as a summoner, as such, the more offensive summoner for Death feels like it would have to be a +1 Magic Summoner, and I chose Cleanse as the ability, which would make this a low mana version of Llama, and open Death up to some pretty gnarly poison ruleset wins, an area that Death, oddly, struggles in compared to other splinters.
If this were to be an 8 Mana summoner instead, I would probably add on +2 Health. As Death suffers from low HP.
8 Mana Version: Astral Amplifier
In the usual method of casting a wide net:
Since Death gets most of the magic oriented status ailments, it also makes sense that Death might be the first summoner to gain Void Armor. This would make for a very powerful summoner, amplifying Windeku and Muirat, protecting some of Death's armored units, and creating a much more terrifying Death Magic presence.
This is one of the few ones where I kept +1 Magic the same, because I really believe that +1 Magic is here, if it's not in the Life Summoner's kit.
if this one were a 4 Mana summoner, I would remove Amplify
DEFENDER Speculation
4 Mana Version: Evasion Summoner
With the way he is some type of Astral spirit, I am fully expecting Phase, which is part of my next choice, but, as an alternative, I decided maybe a +1 Speed Evasion Summoner would be a cool addition, and would make some of Death's composition particularly nasty, especially given the recent introduction of Speed buffs to its monsters.
If this one were to gain an ability and be an 8 mana, I would add Backlash.
I don't see Evasion and Phase ever being on the same Summoner, so, my alternative:
8 Mana Version: Phase Summoner
My favorite of the bunch, I am looking forward and extremely hopeful for a Phase, Immunity, -1 Speed Summoner, which would have a very similar effect to the previous Evasion Summoner, but for magic. This would also make it debuff oriented, in removing debuffs and applying them, while also providing a magic defense that the Death summoners don't already employ. I think this is the most likely of my predictions. If it were to be 4 Mana instead I would remove Immunity.
