Two of my addictions. And i'm sure its the same for most of us here. Hey there, my fellow bookworm! I recently went to Swirl Cafe with my friend who brought half a dozen of books. These are some popular non fiction, self help books that he recommended to me.
As a tea enthusiast, my friend recommended this place because they sell tea in loose leaf. I was quite intrigue with this since most cafe sells tea in bags.
Unfortunately, most of these loose leaves are herbal teas, which i'm not a fan of, so i opted to order their signature coffee instead. They also have gelatos and pastries to pair it with coffee.
Back to my reading, I am on a reading slump the past few weeks so my friend recommended some short stories, more of a children's story book, to get me into reading again. I enjoyed "Who Moved My Cheese?" and finished it for just one day. Its a 100 pages book about how we should embrace change and not let fear paralyze us. We should move with our cheese!
Growing up, i wasn't the type of person who reads books for leisure, nor go to cafes merely to just read books. Until pandemic happened and I was so bored from watching Netflix. Reading was my escape. My mom used to say that reading books can lead to poor eye sight. I'm not sure if its true, but who cares anyway. Reading has far more benefits than risks. It has been my companion on days when i don't feel like mingling with humans; brought me to places ive never been (such as my number one travel destination in my bucket list, JAPAN); and has taught me a lot about life.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
