Hello everyone, I hope you are doing great. A few days ago, I walked to the quay located near the company where I work, at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, in Belgrade. When I was coming back, my gaze was focused on the two towers all the way. They are called Usce and Usce 2. They are also called sisters or twins, but in my opinion they are very different. The weather was cloudy and my attention was drawn to the reflection of the clouds in the glass windows of these tall business towers.
The tower on the right with the antenna on top is called Usce and was built in 1961. At that time it was an extremely attractive and prestigious office building. The tower on the left is called Usce 2 and was built in 2020 in accordance with modern design. The word "usce" means confluence in Serbian. In the vicinity is confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers.
I find the Usce Tower from 1961 more beautiful. Although more than 60 years have passed, it still looks modern and much more harmonious than the new tower. And the clouds are reflected more beautifully on its windows, so I chose the first photo below to be my entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest 84.
The new Usce tower is also attractive, but although more funds have been invested in it and it was designed according to modern standards, it does not have the soul that the old tower has. It seems cold.
And what do you think? Do you like the old Usce tower or the new Usce 2 tower more? 😊
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
Jelena
