Mellit had been acting strange for days. She skipped two meals, which wasn’t like her at all. I soon figured out why—a male dog had started hanging around by the door.

Sometimes, he even came inside, lying down beside Mellit as if they were old friends.

Two days passed, and Mellit was still absent for meals, always by the side of that dog.

When she finally returned, he followed her, trotting close behind. But Mellit still wasn’t herself.

She wouldn’t eat, just wagging her tail and lying outside my room."She won’t even touch her food," I said to my brother Bryan, concerned.

Bryan glanced at Mellit, then at the male dog lounging nearby.

"Looks like he’s got her attention. Maybe she’s wanting to be a mom," he suggested, kneeling down to pet her.

"But she needs to eat."

We mixed some organic red sugar and, after a bit of coaxing, managed to get her to take a few bites.

She ate, but her usual spark was still missing.

This morning, everything changed.

As I stepped out of my room, Mellit sprang up, tail wagging like crazy. She greeted me with her usual energy, bouncing on her paws.

"Good morning, girl!" I said, laughing as she nudged me happily.

Bryan watched from the doorway, chuckling. "Looks like she's back to normal," he said.I smiled, relieved to see my happy dog again.

Be warned of male specie. You could die. Haha
