Every pregnant has different stories, has different experiences and has different struggles. Pregnancy varies from one pregnant to another and even from one child to another.
I am expecting our second child this month, this coming 13 to 18 depending if it will go out earlier or later. Thinking about it gives me a mix emotions. I am excited to see our baby number two yet I felt nervous thinking about my first giving birth experience thinking that it might happen again but praying for a safe, normal and healthy delivery.
For today's blog, I want to share to you my struggles as pregnant of our baby number 2.
During the first month of my first trimester, I never knew that I was pregnant. I haven't feel any differences until my monthly period didn't came.
During this month, I wonder why my skin in my fingers easily changes just like in the picture above. I don't know if it has something in relation with my pregnancy. To mommies here have you experienced like this during your pregnancy? Or this is just happened during that time.
On the second month, still I felt okay, nothing change a lot except that sometimes I felt so sleepy during noon time. It is a struggle for me because I am attending the school supplies and printing shop of my sister in law. One noon time, I rolled down the roll up door into half as if it is closed but people still call my attention. I cannot sleep.
On the third month, very big changes happened and the struggles are real.
Food are bitter
There were times that the food are bitter. The rice, bread, the biscuits, my favorite waffles and other food are bitter.
It started when we went to a mall and I asked my husband to buy some waffles for the three of us. I am excited to eat it after a prayer of thanks but I wonder why it is so bitter that I really wasn't able to eat it. At first I thought that it was cooked differently but when they taste it, it wasn't bitter to them.
When we went home, I felt so hungry and excited to eat our dinner but sadly the rice are so bitter too. My husband thought that I am just kidding but Im not. He went out to buy some bread, star bread to be specific. He made me a chocolate drink using Milo to be paired with that bread but sadly, the bread is bitter too. I almost cry because I felt so hungry but I don't have anything to try to eat that night. I went to bed without eating.
Not just a morning sickness but whole day sickness
Some mother told me that they experience morning sickness which means they have nausea and vomiting every morning but mine is more than that. I vomit not just in the morning but also in the noon time and evening. I vomit after eating that it seems everything I ate comes out.
I lose weight so easily during this month and I became thin and looked so stressed.
Good smell becomes bad smell
Perfumes are made to have pleasant smell right? But during this period they are so smelly for me that I will vomit everytime my husband will apply it.
Alcohol have a little fragrance and it became smelly for me too.
My lotion became smelly for me too. Glad that bath soap and shampoo are okay for me.
Blood of the fish is so smelly for me that I had a hard time cleaning it, I remember that I really had to clean the fish and cook it so I used two face mask but in the end, I still vomit.
Cooking oil when heated to saute onions and garlic and even to fry something is so smelly for me.
During this period is the most difficult time of my pregnancy that sometimes I almost cry because I am vomiting and nothing will come out.
I am always not feeling well that during this time my husband take over in doing the laundry every weekend.
In the first month of second trimester, some whole day sickness are still there. The bad smell are still there and sometimes the bitter taste are still there but good thing in the next month, I felt better and I can eat well.
My tummy are bigger this time and I want to eat most of the time. I feel hungry from time to time and craving for something.
During this period I experienced another different struggles:
Peeing time to time
This is one of the struggles of the pregnants, peeing from time to time. You just got out from the comfort room and then later on you can feel you want to pee again.
During evening, this is really a struggle because it is so difficult to get up and down time to time because you're peeing from time to time.
My feet are swelling
My feet are swelling, I felt worried about it though many people told me that it is normal. They said that it will just disappear before giving birth or after giving birth.
Itchiness on my skin
This is something different because other pregnant never experienced this. There were times in the day, most especially in the afternoon and above all in the evening that my skin is itching.
I had a hard time going back to sleep at night when I wake up because my skin are so itchy, my back, my hands, my feet and everywhere.
Now, I am counting down the days when my baby is coming out. As of the moment, I am here now in the OB-GYN clinic for an ultrasound for the last time.
I am praying for a normal, safe and healthy delivery. Please pray for me too.
I don't know when I can write again after this article.
