Time spent with family is worth every second.
I am scrolling my gallery and I found pictures during our reunion last December 16-17, 2023 at Tamara Beach Resort, Purok 7 Tampat, Barangay Tinoto, Maasim Sarangani Province. I really had a plan to share this special moment here in hive but I forget to write about it as times pass by.
Glad I found this community, the THROWBACK THURSDAY, where we can share experiences, moments in the past. This is my first time to post in this community and I am happy to be here and will be glad to be part of this growing community.
We are having a family reunion every year and it was stopped during pandemic. So, last year we had it again after three years of not having it.
Our clan is the host during this reunion. We gave our financial pledges for the said event. We are also grateful for the sponsors and donors that made it happen.
Here is our short and simple program.
Our relatives went to the venue earlier especially the host clan to prepare everything for the said event. On the other hand, I and my family went to the venue on Saturday night because we went to church first during the day and we travel after sunset. It took us almost 2 hours before we reached the venue.
When we reached there, everyone is having fun. Some went to the beach and have a night swimming. Some have a chit chat with parents, siblings and cousins whom they met during the reunion. Some are busy preparing for the Macho Gay and carolling contest for that evening and above all the host family is busy preparing for everything especially for the food.
Time comes that the program was started. Everyone is finding their place to witness and have so much for the Macho gay contest. Since we are the host family, my sister in law and my brother are the masters of ceremony during that event and I am there too to assist with preparing the sash and prizes.
Everyone had so much fun that our lips can't stop smiling and our mouth is aching because of laughing too much. Try to imagine a straight guy, trying to be a woman and walk in front. Some drinks alcoholic drinks just to do the task and make the whole clan enjoyed the event.
I haven't have a lot of pictures during the show because I am so busy in the side of the stage assisting for what is needed while the show is on going but I have this picture of the five macho gay candidates wearing their malong gown attire.
Some are really macho, and some are sexier than women, lol. The one who is in the center is the participant in our family and I am proud to say that he gets the crown, yes he won! We won!
I am proud to say that I helped in designing his malong gown attire along with his girlfriend.
The evening program ended giving us stomach ache, jaw ache as we laugh all throughout the show. Thanks to the candidates and organizers who made it possible and so much fun.
In the morning we woke up early as we need to prepare food for everyone and me too to prepare the morning in the morning as I will be the one to handle it.
The morning welcome us by showing the beautiful wonders of God's creation. God painted a beautiful orange color in the sky that reflects in the water and made the surroundings orange as the sun is about to rise.
It is so seldom that I witness this kind of color in the sky early in the morning so I really cherished the moment and stayed for a while at the beach, inhaling the natural scent of the ocean, listening to the natural sounds of a little waves along the shore.
I and my son took the opportunity to have a picture with this amazing background that the nature provides.
My son is so happy too witnessing this kind of wonderful beauty of nature.
Time pass and the color changes from orange to light orange but we are so grateful to witness it and to have that special moment with nature.
Time passed and we have our simple breakfast before we prepare our program proper for that reunion - the Family Presentation.
One of each clan introduced their family to the whole of us so that we will know them. We may not know them all by name but atleast we will know them by face.
I don't have a picture of the five clan but I have a picture of our clan. So, here is our clan. I just knew some of our first cousin through this reunion.
Indeed, a family or clan reunion like this enables every family to see each other, know each other and have some bond with each other even in a short period of time.
We then elected a new set of officers and our parents which is the second generation decided to have our new set of officers from the third generation that's why the new set of officers were young but off course our parents will always be there on our back to support the young ones.
We are looking forward for the next reunion that will happen on December this year if God's permit.
We also have a family picture but incomplete because our father is not with us. He is now sleeping in his grave waiting Jesus to wake him up in the resurrection morning.

A family gathering like this will bring every member of the family closer together. Some lives in a far away places yet give their time and spend finances to be with the family, having fun, having bond and knowing each other.
