After a refreshing nap back at The Assembly Place Hotel, my friends and I were ready for the next leg of our Singapore adventure. With our energy renewed, we decided to take the MRT to Gardens by the Bay—an experience in itself, as it was our first time navigating the city’s impressive public transportation system. The efficiency and cleanliness of the MRT left us in awe, and the excitement of exploring a new place with old friends made the journey all the more special.

Stepping out of the MRT station, we were greeted by the lush beauty of Gardens by the Bay. It was like stepping into another world—an oasis of greenery amidst the urban landscape of Singapore. The gardens were vast, with towering Supertrees and a diverse array of plants from all corners of the world. We strolled through the different sections, each more captivating than the last.
As the afternoon turned into evening, we had the chance to reconnect with a former high school classmate who now lives in Singapore. It was a heartwarming reunion, filled with laughter and memories of our school days. Our classmate treated us to a delicious dinner at Satay by the Bay, where we indulged in an array of local dishes. The setting was perfect—an open-air dining area with a view of the bay, where we could enjoy the flavors of Singapore while catching up with an old friend. The satay, in particular, was a standout, perfectly grilled and bursting with flavor.

Just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, we were in for a treat. As we finished our meal, the Supertree Grove came alive with a dazzling light show. We quickly made our way to the grove, finding a spot to sit and take in the spectacle. The lights danced in time with the music, casting a magical glow over the entire garden. It was a truly mesmerizing experience, one that left us in awe of the creativity and beauty that Singapore has to offer.
With the Supertree light show still fresh in our minds, we made our way back to the hotel, feeling a deep sense of contentment. The day had been filled with unforgettable moments—from reconnecting with an old friend to witnessing one of Singapore’s most iconic attractions in all its glory. As we settled in for the night, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experiences we were sharing and the memories we were creating.

Our first day in Singapore had been everything we’d hoped for and more, and we couldn’t wait to see what the rest of the trip had in store for us.
