Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches but I didn't win many matches this time again. My wins were mainly from my opponent not showing up to their fights.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 3 wins. There were 4 free wins in this match because four guilds didn't submit someone for a match. My rewards for the brawl were 5,048 merits and 75.593 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. Our guild didn't do as well as last round but we still placed above average. So the rewards were quite good.
Brawl fights
There were 4 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match. My opponent just had the stronger lineup due to the level difference. I couldn't do much against all of that damage.
You can find the second match here. I won this match because of the magic monsters. It destroyed my shield monster and my opponent just had more monsters than me.
You can find the third match here. I lost because of the opportunity monster. It destroyed my backline and there wasn't much I could do against all of that damage.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. All those heals and repairs were kind of crazy as there wasn't much that I could do against my opponent. The taunt monster just soaked up all of my damage.
Conclusion
I think doing 9 fights for 5,048 merits and 75.593 SPS is a good reward for the effort. It was one of my worst brawls when it came to actual fights but one of my best brawls when it came to when my opponent did not show up. I can't remember the last time where I got 5 free wins from a brawl. I was worried when I lost all my fights but I guess things worked out in the end.
