Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I won most of my matches this time around.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 7 wins. There was 1 free win in this match because one guild didn't submit someone for a game. My rewards for the brawl were 4,762 merits and 68.518 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 7th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I got a decent amount of wins but my guild didn't do so great this round. There isn't much I can do about that nor can I complain when I drag down the score a bit for my guild on bad brawls.
Brawl fights
There were 1 that I lost, 2 that I won, and 3 that I won due to surrender. So I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I won this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. There wasn't much I could do with the massive speed advantage that my opponent had. Add in the fact that my opponent can't miss any attacks and I got destroyed. My opponent just completely overpowered me with all of that.
You can find the second match here. I won this match but I didn't think it would happen. My opponent had a level advantage over me so I thought it was a lost cause, but I ended up winning because my opponent had too many monsters that could not attack from their position. I was missing quite a few attacks at the start, but eventually, I managed to land enough attacks. My flying monster managed to dodge quite a few attacks as well.
You can find the third match here. I won this match because I had a stronger lineup. I think my opponent didn't have many options and just picked what he had. So it was a fairly easy win as I had a full lineup while my opponent did not.
Conclusion
Doing 8 fights for 4,762 merits and 68.518 SPS is a good reward for the effort. It was a great brawl with 4 free wins and two fights that I won. I only lost 1 match and this was the best brawl that I have had in a while. It feels good to do so well, but it's a bit unfortunate that my guild didn't get the same luck. We still got more than last brawl so that is good.
