The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. I have moved to Wild League after the changes to Glint rewards and I have been liking it there. I stayed in Modern League and was able to get more rewards compared to last season. It shows that I could move up a bit further so the reward difference wasn't as large. Modern is proving to be better in terms of SPS but worst in terms of Glint by a bit. It isn't as bad as I though.
Season Rewards
I ended up in Gold III (1,940) and I got 8k Glint as a season reward. It is about twice what I got last season and I don't think I ended up with more wins either. So starting at a higher point and winning fights higher up in Modern just ended up giving me more Glint. I wasn't the best with my energy so I could definitely improve but it's at least better compared to last season
Gwen's Glint Shop
The loot chests were added a few seasons and you can read more about it here. With the new cards about to be released, I decided to spend almost all of my glint over to buy some rare cards. It includes what I saved from previous seasons and I decided that it was better because I do want more summoner cards. I didn't get anything too great and I even used alchemy potions to boost the gold foil rare, but I still only got 1 gold foil card. So I think the alchemy potion failed because I should have gotten 4 with the 100 pulls.
I grabbed how my rare cards are doing from splintercards above. All my rare cards are level 5 or above and my dark summoner is even level 7 after combining the cards.
Gladius Packs
I have been able to collect 5 packs since the last time I opened packs. I didn't open the random loot boxes so it was less merits from that and my guild did decent in brawls. So it wasn't too bad in terms of merits, but my pack openings wasn't so great.
I was able to upgrade Edith Emberstar to level 2. This card has bloodlust to start. Increasing it's level gave it one more attack. I don't use this card often but with 5 attack, it looks like a very powerful damage dealer.
SPS
My SPS rewards were higher because of my ranked battles and brawls. We placed quite well in brawls and the increased SPS from ranking higher in modern helped out.
My pool reward for the season is 93.801 SPS. I plan on staking all of this along with all of my staking rewards for a total of 221.284 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected. I stacked up the VOUCHERS again so I wonder if I should try a few Wild seasons until the VOUCHERS are used up or if I should just save them for a purchase later. They are planning some new things for VOUCHERS in the proposal so this plan might change.
Conclusion
The Glint reward was better this time around. Modern is a different experience compared to Wild, but I don't think it is worth the Wild pass when I haven't been able to make use of all my energy as much lately. I think Modern isn't as bad after getting into the Gold League.
