Month of May here in the Philippines
Aside from celebrating Mother's day this month of May, schools celebrate moving up ceremony/closing ceremony/graduation ceremony. And, I am excited since I have the opportunity to see my co-parents, old friends from my highschool days and neighbors.and even meet new friends.
And most of all, seeing my daughter's accomplishment in finishing her Junior High school with flying color. Being a mom, this is one of the best part of my motherhood and I am praying to see my daughters in abigger stage, to finish their chosen courses. It is abig challenge to both of us to work hard more, earn more and save more for them to use in pursuing their dreams.
Yesterday, I attended the Baccalureate service wherein I am so amazed with the message being shared by one of the alumni from Batch 2006. He said, his dream is to become an engineer but he was destined another calling. He finished Bachelor of Arts in Theology wherein he is now a young Pastor in our community but he is also a licensed teacher in profession.
His message to the moving up learners and graduating students is about how education is important in our life. In school they teach us how to read, write and count.
Why we need to know how to write?
It is very important that we know how to write to set our signature. It is indeed that your signature to. has to be consistent or else, transaction will be denied.
Why we need to know how to read?
We must know how to read and understand what we are reading to make sure we will not be victim of scam. We will not going to sign documents without understanding.
Why we need to know how to count?
We need it to ensure that we recieve the exact salary and wages we deserve, exact change in paying bills and we know how to budget.
So education teach us to realize the reality of life; train our mind to know and understand about life circumstance and able to think wisely and make realistic decision and action; and lastly lead us to success.
So let us teach our children, guide our children and lead them to embrace education. Knowing that it is the reason why we got up early, work hard and make sure to provide their basic needs and reminding everyday to go to school and focus in pursuing their dream.
