In a snap I didn't even realize that it's already September, 9th month of the year. The time ran so fast that the eight months for this year was already consumed and we may think and look back, what are the things we did for the last eight months of our journey. For sure there's a ton of memories to be remembered and some of them are not that good but we are still thankful for everything, right?

Now that the first month of the ber months is already in the calendar, what are the things you remember when you realized that it's already September. You can share it by joining the weekly challenge by Hiveph here.

As for me and for my family, we see joy, hope and unity. You may wonder why and it's because it's in our blood already as a Filipino who celebrates the event we called Christmas. In the records Philippines got the longest celebration of it and many tourist all over the world visits us for that but as you know things are not the same as before and it's just sad thinking about it so don't think lol.

I'm just kidding here because I know you are stressed na with all the things going on around in our life for the past years. Smile even if life hits us hard. Upang hindi maagang tumanda ika nga.

My family and I see joy when the month is already last in ber. During this first month of ber I can see already a lot of decorations on the streets in town even here in our barangay. But what I really remembered was the when I'm still studying and this time hits the calendar, our teacher will require us to bring man made stars with vibrant colors and it serves as decorations in our room. The biggest lantern you will bring the higher the grade haha galawan.

Together with my father and my late grandpa, we will cut some bamboos to make one. Then we will buy some colored plastics, the one used to pack yemas. Craving some of it already and who does not diba.

While we assembled the lantern I can see the wide smile from my parents and grandparents, from my little cousins also because it's really fun to make your own project, a lantern. It can be complicated if you really don't know how to do it but grandpa really know it making it as a piece of cake for him. I was amazed by that and I think cool of him. Missed him already by the way.

When we will go to town we can see gigantic lanterns hanging around the the highway and it is filled with christmas lights for it to glow at night. We use that as an opportunity to take some memorable pictures with the fam. By looking at those shining lanterns at night, it reallg brings unexplainable joy inside of me and to my family. I know it because when they see one they are very alive and their eyes are overflowing with joy.

We also see hope when ber months comes. Why? It's because when we see those lanterns and christmas decorations in our homes or on streets it just my family an inspiration to live this life to the fullest and it give us hope that everyday is a new day wherein we can strive better. We see hope despite the things that made us bleed.

We also see unity when ber months comes for it unites our family once more when we celebrates events such as fiestas on October here in our place and Christmas on December. I know that there's a lot but those two is the most significant why my family goes here. Even if they are far away they will still make time for it in order for them to see my late grandpa and grandma.

Also when ber months comes we expect a lot of typhoons to hit the Philippines just like now there were already two typhoons if I'm not mistaken that hits the northern part of the country which damaged the crops of farmers and the houses ofcourse.

During this time we see the overflowing unity coming from over the country and even internationally to provide help to the victims of typhoons. We are known for that one, Bayanihan of the people. Which we joined hands in every times that life strikes us with all it gots.

Those are the things I see when ber months come and there's more to it.

Such as when ber months hits I expect the weather to be cold and it will always rain every afternoon or even the whole day but as I can see now it's not. It's feels like that it's still summer. It makes me sweat a lot making me wants to bath every hour lol.

Usually this month of september I wear already those thick jackets and using my umbrellas to go out. I just don't know if it will happen now because I can't see it.

All in all when ber months come all I can think is that Christmas already begin. Colorful lanterns are out together with those chritmas lights combined with those songs.

A reminder, no matter what happens enjoy life because it has so much to offer.

Thank you for reading this.

Yeah best thing about Filipino is that whatever the calamity or heart break we been but we knew the fact that December is arriving it feels like the magic is about to come. Ber months reminds us the Christmas, family and the joy. I knew that your BER-Months is different now compared to past but keep going on brother...

We have to sir.😊 there's nothing we can get if we will let those happenings stuck us between two walls.
A magic is about to happen for sure po yan basta palapit na ang pasko.

Joy, hope and unity are the positive and happy moments of ber months and I am happy that you are able to feel those emotions even amidst of the trials and challenges that comes along our way during this season and one of them is the rainy season bringing much fever, cold and cough and the typhoons as well. Be positive always @jhero22.

Even if there's a bad one happening now that's going on around us still we must see and see those three..

Same to you ate jen. Positive lang sa buhay..😊wag lang sa covid.😅

Hahahah korek, dapat negative talaga sa covid hehehe

May nanalo na hehe. Iba talaga ang sigla na bigay ng Ber months e. We still look for the silver lining amidst what life has brought upon us.

Well that life po hehe.. Kailangan hanapin ang mga positibong bagay sa kabila ng mga negatibo..

Agree ako jan :)

Ang dami daming ganap lagi no kapag start na ang BER MONTHS. Yong super excited ka as a kid ba. But now it's a bit different na than before but still yong diwa ng pasko naman tuwing papasok na ang pasko ang mas mahalaga. Happy Ber Months jerjer UwU

I was a bit sad reading your blog today bro. I know you have a big burden carrying in your heart, but still, you continue to fight. I salute you for that. It is indeed that joy, hope, and unity are the three things we can see in the life of Filipinos during ber months.

Lanterns, music, and the process of making these two are amazing. I just hope that this year's ber months will be safe from the strong typhoons and have no houses to be washed out compared to last year. Truly devastating!

Have some !PIZZA

We can't avoid not to have burden in our hearts but as I see grandma getting better happy nako and the same with my state will be calmed again.
Those three are the one I see and that's who we are Filipinos.

I'm hoping and praying for that also. Because a lot of our kababayans are not yet stable due to the recent typhoons especially the farmers.

I feel so sad about a lot of typhoons coming in the Philippines during ‘ber’ months my dear friend, jherro. Yes, this is true. I even remember during December of 2011, Tropical Storm “Sendong” or Washi hit the Philippines and a lot had really died in my area. I was living that time in Cagayan de Oro City. I thought everything was fine but I woke up in grief, because the storm had destroyed a thousand of lives. One of the worst days of December. Really so painful and heartbreaking. And like what you have said, the spirit of Bayanihan are always with Filipinos especially like this toughest moment.

Being hit by typhoons in the months wherein we should be happy is so sad. The happiness fades aways amd turn to sadness, grief.

It's already present in our bloods since the old times and I can see that it hasn't been died yet and I'm happy about that. Being a Filipino is truly a remarkable because of the bayanihan spirit.
