Some considerations that must be taken into account in a project.
Expansion project
Hello, my name is Jhonny and welcome to my blog, this time we are going to comment on some details that should be considered in a project, in this case of expansion; There are many details that are not thought of in the planning, but that are resolved on site as they appear.
I would dare to say that many details are overlooked when projecting, and only a few are considered; in the execution of the work is where you can really demonstrate the ability to solve problems and be a little pragmatic for it, without losing structural stability at any time.
This time I bring you some details that are being considered in an expansion project, and as they have given us results previously, it can be considered at this stage, and very opportunely considered in the cost of the work.
Waterproofing of the skylights of the bathrooms
The first detail corresponds to a bathroom, it is a light trap for the bathroom and what must be taken into account is to waterproof the two tabs that were left to support the dome with waterproofing membranes, so that moisture does not filter.
A drain on one side has also been considered, connected to the storm drainage system to drain all the water in this area, we could not dump it towards the neighbor because that would not be the right thing; In addition, the dome will come with a slope towards one of the sides and will drain that way.
Waterproofing of the flanges of the skylight
The second detail corresponds to the area of the Terrace, this must be protected from the rain and the first thing that occurred to us was the placement of a sardinel, this helps us to protect internal areas and that it is not in direct contact with the water, from this way we are not going to let it filter anything below our cancel.
Sardinel to avoid leaks
It has been tried many times with silicone, but over time, it manages to filter the water, especially when the silicone expires, and we protect that with this sardine pot, which has given us good results.
Gable fill
As a fourth detail we have a filling that is semi-hidden with the sardinel and has a slope towards our downspouts, on this floor we have two downspouts, because we grab our part of the water in the middle of the terrace.
Part water
We thought of it this way because if we lowered all our slope to a single part, (it can be done), the result of our threads and our fillings would force us to have cuts in the tile to how the slopes go, then the entire tile would to have several cuts to lower the line towards that downspout and that was not going to look good; That is why the detail proposed by us is to make it a watershed and divert the downspouts to each side.
Installation details of Pergona and domes
And last, but not least, the detail of the installation of the pergola and the domes, since a slot was made in the upper part for the glass to enter, to seal it from above and we no longer have filtration problems. .
Because sometimes when the glass is directly attached to the wall, the humidity enters through some type of detachment of the adhesive or silicone that they use, the humidity manages to filter, so we have already seen that making a groove is much more effective.
Swallow light from main room.
The glass has a gap in the slot for obvious reasons, so that the movement of the glass is not very strict, in addition the slot is filled with silicone so that it is molded and resists any type of movement that are minimal, but well in this way no the glass breaks and we guarantee that there are no leaks between the pergola and the wall, in the same way it will be done with the domes.
I hope the information is useful when making a decision, do not forget to support me and we will read next time, bye.
