Hello everyone! My name is Aj and I am glad to share to you this art gallery that I have been with just recently with my high school friends.
Every time I hangout with my friends, we commonly come to Art District that can be located here in Lacson Street, Bacolod City. What's more interesting in this place is that, there are a lots of arts around the place. It's just that I cant figure out those messages that an artist wanted us to know about behind their artworks. We all know that in order to appreciate one's work by an artist, we first need to know those messages that an artist wanted us to know because behind those arts, it contains a certain message inside it or the feeling and experience that they wanted to portray to us. Art is not just a piece of work but rather, a way to express one's feelings and thoughts through an artist's creative expression.
There is this place in Art District where, before you can enter, you need to give 50 pesos for the donation. What I don't really understand is that if it is for a donation, why ask for this amount? And why not make it instead of entrance fee? 🤣
Let me share with you those works of art that catch my attention.
This is one of the arts that I can't figure out the meaning or the message in, it's just that I can see those horses with a different colors, and I think it's telling me about our differences, such as gender or sexuality, personalities, and a different perspectives in life because I know that each of us has different opinions regardless of the situation that we are dealing with.
I don't really understand what's with the TV and those clothes thrown around, but it's giving me the vibe of being a Filipino like ukay-ukay or something where you can buy cheap but imported clothes.
I also dont really understand this, but maybe a woman could. Every time I see this woman mannequins, I feel like i can see the discrimination that they have gone through before. We all know that before, maybe in 18th century, women were discriminated against because, in the past, men thought that women were weak and not capable of doing what a men could do. But now, in the present, a lot of things have change. Women shows us that they are also capable of the things that a man can do, even being the president of ones country in the world.
About this art, it really puzzled me for such a long time. I feel like it's telling me that what we see is not always right, sometimes people tend to hide the sadness and loneliness that we are feeling in order not to burden other people. In this art, I feel like I can see my self in it, I can reflect those emotions that I have been hiding, no matter how painful they are.
Before, I wasn't really a fond of art, but now that I have learned that everything we see around us is a work of art that tells us about the emotions and experiences that an artist have dealt with in his/her life.
Just like me, I wasn't able to express how I feel, but though the work of art maybe I can give it a shot and let other people know how I truly feel.
