How's everyone? 😊 Have you seen the latest announcement? Hell yeah, we have new creatures in the mix! 🤩 We have the first bug and poison type Larvie! Larvie will be then evolve to Noxic.
So let's make a fanart featuring Larvie!
I wanted to show Ocean Healer in a cute bun and fringe. Larview would be on her arm sitting. I wanted Ocean Healer's hair to be bunned with flowers and leaves to match Larvie's type. On the background will be a landscape and fluffy clouds. I used a different brush for the lineart this time. I used a chalk/pencil texture brush and... I was not too fond of it, haha. I had a hard time using it or perhaps not yet still used to it.
Next is to apply the base colors in different layers. What was frustrating was, because of using a new textured brush, it was hard to erase the edges. It took a while for me to clean up unlike when I am using my usual lineart brush. I then colored the details such as the eyes, and the flowers.
I rendered the first layer on top of the base colors and then worked on the details of the eyes. I used an airbrush for the blush and a flat brush for the shine.
Final Art
The clouds and the leaves were drawn using a special brush that can be downloaded from the asset store. I blurred out the background to focus on the two subjects. Lastly, I applied textured image and set it to lower opacity.
