Art Process
Today's inspo is Larvie! π I want to put into art its vibrant palette and adorable design. Noxic, its evolution is equally captivating. I have not sketching guy characters for a while, so it is a challenge for me to combine the two subjects. I wanted this character to have an edgy aura, especially the hair and the clothing.
Here, I filled the spaces with Larvie's color. I chose less saturated base colors so that I can play with the rendering later. For the half coat, I chose black just to balance out the vibrant color already. Next, on the clipped layer, I added some gradient effects of some darker shades.
Next is rendering the shirt and the coat. I used a hard airbrush to create the illusion of folds. The darker strokes of the airbrush made the clothing look crinkled and folded. The same goes for the hair and for the skin to create depths. On top of the hair is the shine using a flat brush and blur brush to defuse the sharp edges.
Final Art
I chose a simple yellow gradient and a drop shadow for the background. And finally, masking the canvas with a texture.
Finished art. ππ
That is it for this art blog. I will see you at the next one!
