Happy Monday, y'all! 🥳
Splinterlands is now live in Coins Arcade. 🥳 Coins.ph is a popular crypto wallet here in the Philippines. I do hope that they can add SPS and HIVE to their list of coins. This will attract more people to look into the coins and entice them to join the blockchain. You may want to check their X post here.
For this week, the chosen card is slimeball.
Art Process
I sketched a slimy creature in a blue pencil brush. I first made two circles for the head and body. I then made some lines around the circles to form a trapezoid with smooth edges. I carved a letter C in the middle part to form the mouth. Lastly, put the details such as the drips, eyebrows, eyes, and the tentacles. Put the sketch on a 20 percent opacity to begin doing the lineart. I always use a solid pencil brush for a cartoonish effect. I used a thicker pencil brush for the outline, and thinner for the inner. I can always modify the lines by using the Correct Line tool.
I picked a mossy green color similar to the original card. I applied it to the whole body of the character leaving the inner part of the mouth and the eyes. For the lower lip and eyebrows, I chose a darker green, just below the skin color. I applied a darker green for the inner part of the mouth and then a cyan blue for the tongue. Choosing a lighter cyan blue, I traced the drools on the body. Added the shadows and the suckers of the tentacles.
Final art
Lastly, I put more details on the skin with pores using the edge pen. Added some noise monochrome and set to 10 percent opacity.
