One of my goals for my Japan trip was to eat every Japanese dish I wanted. 😍There’s no way I am not going to try authentic ramen. I have always wanted to slurp a good bowl of ramen just like Naruto does, haha. 😆
I always looked for shops that were not crowded or tourist spots where most of the time, double the price but the same quality. So I opened my Google Maps to look for one. Luckily, there was a ramen shop nearby my hotel that opened at a convenient time. 😊
Easily, I spotted the shop with the bright, yellow banner. As I opened the restaurant’s door, the fragrance wrapped me inviting me to sit and order away. Aghhh~ 😋
I guess the owner is a sport fanatic because, I saw some photos and signatures of athletes- I’m guessing baseball. 😁
Then, the interior of the shop is very simple and organic. I can see some noodles and ingredients on the fridge, some crates on the ground, and the worn pots.
The kind staff handed me the laminated menu. I am not gonna lie, it was a little bit greasy- but! It was a sign that a lot of people eat here. I definitely saw some fingerprints there. ☺️
I was surprised that the price here is cheaper than back home. I go to this ramen place called Ramen Nagi, and probably one of the popular ramen chains, and a bowl of ramen costs more around $3.
So, I ordered the char siu and dumplings. I was wondering if they serve some soft drinks like cola... Well, I was shy to ask, haha.
But I did anyway, haha! It was like “Do you guys have cola?” The staff kindly said, “Oh, sorry, we do not have cola, but there’s a vending machine at the side of the building.”
I thought, hmmm, maybe cola and ramen were a bad combination? But that’s just me.
Ahhh finally it came! It felt like I waited forever for this bowl. 🍜😍
It was heavy, not gonna lie. Probably the big bowl added the weight. I took the first bite—
Nope, it was not your ordinary microwavable cup of noodles on your sad desk— IT’S THE REAL DEAL!😍
It took me to food heaven. This is just a bowl of bliss like OMG. I wish we have this same ramen back at home.
The meat was tender, and flavorful. I can say that the pork was marinated for some time. The broth was rich and savory. It was too perfect- I can’t say anything bad about it. I added pickled cabbage to my bowl and it got more delicious.
Now I think I know cola is not a good combo with ramen, haha. 😆 I rather had water to ruin the flavor dancing in my mouth.
For the side dish, I got sic pieces of dumplings for 250 Yen. They were fried on one side to get that golden-brown crisp for texture.
Ahh~ I just loved that crunch every time I bit them into half. I like a dumpling with a crispy side and with a soft inside.
It was juicy and warm, and I know they filling was seasoned well. To make it even better, I drizzled a nice amount of soy sauce on top. The soy sauce is a bit tangy and sweet. So simple yet delicious.
I finished the bowl of ramen with a happy tummy. 😁 Just like in video games, it was like unlocking a new level of appreciation of food specifically ramen. 🥰 It was just not a bowl of noodles but an experience for me to try a very good ramen.
It was so good, one bowl is not enough for this Japan trip. The next day, I found myself in the same ramen shop again. 😆
Oh, no- this is making me fat just because it was so good.
Nah, I don’t care for a few pounds because I cannot find this perfect bowl out of Japan. Hahah 😆
Shout out to the shop's staff! 😁
