How is everyone? 😌
Have you seen the new card? I do not know a lot about the card but based on the character design, it is so cool! Zyriel is like a dark and powerful character. 🥰 I might make a chibi version of her in the social media challenge. 😌 I am excited about what Splinterlands has more to offer!
This morning, I also put my cards for rent, hehe. I got them by winning here. I have very small knowledge of playing SPL, but I am always here to support the game and the blockchain.
For this week's entry, I chose Elven Mystic in my art style! 🥰
Sketching and Lineart
I first made a concept by sketching. I looked for a hooded reference first on Pinterest. What I am picking up from the card is that the character has the power to revive dead birds ???. Not really sure what is going on there. 🤣 Looks like a cult ritual. So I put some candles on the background and later on the front.
The yellow jacket reminds me of the movie E.T. 🤣 I chose a darker yellow for the inside of the jacket. Why purple hair? Because why not. 🤣
I then colored the whole character with gray color and played with the shadowing for my guide. I saw a lot of artists do this, haha! I think it is nice to see the overall shadowing before doing the coloring.

Now the eyes are challenging because they have to be expressive. It is hard to get the expression that I want here. I change it twice just to get to this one. I put some cyan blue glow on the pupils and on the lashes. I know put the glowing freckles on the face. I put a darker shade to make them seem more. I put shadowing too on the nose, lips, body, and hands. The chain came from the idea of the card's feet. I thought of putting on the arms instead.
I put some shadowing on the yellow jacket for dimension, though, most of it will be covered by the candles. More glowing circles in the background. 😌
Final Art
A lot happened here. 🤣 I made a single candle and copy and paste them to fill the frame. I tweak some candles so that it is not too much identical to each other. I add some of glowing swirls on the hand and on the back. I added more glowing circles near the hand. I darkened the corners to make the glows more visible.
