I usually go to my partner's hometown and stay with their family. Their place is a good choice if you want to stay away from city life. The location is simple, and the weather is cold. It is located in Calinan, Davao City.
I took a day off from work during the weekdays, and my partner and I decided to plan a trip to their farm.
His family is easy to deal with, and they suggested that we all go to the farm together, along with our cute companion, their dog named Kikay.
I was excited because my partner told me that we would be riding a cable car to reach their farm. From their home, we walked for about 10-15 minutes to reach the cable car station. The cable car was built to transport vegetables and fruits easily for the farmers. This idea was great because the farm is located far from the town, and vehicles cannot access it due to the lack of proper roads.
The cable car can carry four people, and before we proceeded to the other side, I took photos of all four of us. I also captured videos of our travel (I didn't uploaded the video hereπ ), which took approximately 12 minutes to reach the mountain. The cable car moved slowly, allowing us to enjoy the breathtaking view of the river, bridge, forest, and small falls below. The scenery was fantastic, although it was a bit scary, it was also a lot of fun.
Along the way, my partner's father showed me their fruit plants and their small house. Upon arrival, we had to walk another five minutes to reach their house. The path was slippery and muddy, but they were accustomed to walking in that area. It was relatively easy for them, but as a newcomer, I found it challenging.
When we arrive at their small home, we rest for a while, and my partner's mother cooks vegetarian food since my partner and I are vegetarians. It is very peaceful at their place, and you can hear birds chirping around. The air is refreshing, and we engage in conversation, sharing their experiences in farming.
We are also able to chant songs and practice meditation, as we truly connect with nature. It is a great spot for our daily meditation, where my mind can think clearly and my heart feels happy staying there for a moment.
We only stayed for a few hours, and after lunch, we needed to return to their other home down the mountain due to the changing weather in the afternoon. It would have been difficult for us to walk in the mud.
Instead of taking the cable car, we decided to walk. It turned out to be a mountain hike, and I never expected it to take hours to descend. Since I wasn't prepared for a short hike, I didn't do any stretching or exercise. I found myself almost out of breath, while they walked quickly down the steep mountain.
We traveled for almost an hour, passing small waterfalls, and even the dog got tired. I must say, they are experts at navigating the steep mountain terrain. When we finally arrived home, my feet were hurting as my muscles were unprepared for the long walk. Despite the fatigue, the experience was enjoyable. I cherished the opportunity to bond with my partner and his parents. I love the idea of staying there when I grow old with my partner; it would be perfect in the future.
Thanks for reading. Have a great day everyone.ππ§‘
