Hello monochrome #Hive friends!... I've been wandering the streets of my village for more than fifteen years and, at this stage of my life, nobody is surprised anymore when I approach and shoot a portrait directly and without warning. Some of them even smile as fast as they can with the intention of looking better in the photo... That's something I've earned after so long doing this and it's also something people have learned to appreciate. Many people wait for their photos to appear on my social networks, I also send them to their mobile phones or email accounts, everything is valid to have a photo taken by "The Madman with the camera in his hand"...

¡Hola amigos monocromáticos de #Hive!... He estado por más de quince años deambulando por las calles de mi pueblo y, a estas alturas de mi vida, ya nadie se extraña cuando me acerco y disparo una retrato directamente y sin avisar. Algunos incluso sonríen tan rápido como pueden con la intención de lucir mejor en la foto... Eso es algo lo cual me he ganado después de tanto tiempo haciendo esto y también es algo que la gente ha aprendido a apreciar. Muchos esperan a que sus fotos aparezcan en mis redes sociales, también se las suelo enviar a sus móviles o cuentas de correo, todo es válido para tener una foto hecha por "El Loco de la cámara en la mano"...

They call him "El Polar"/_{Le llaman "El Polar"}

Juan Carlos, also known as "El Polar", is a car mechanic. When I was a young man of about 20 years old I had an huge 4x4 Toyota FJ40 model 1981, then "El Polar" was my frequent 4x4 adventure partner and my mechanical assistant. Oh yes, and we also drank huge amounts of "Polar" beer (the best selling beer in our country) until we were drunk and incoherent.... Since then everybody knows Juan Carlos as "El Polar"...

Juan Carlos, también conocido como "El Polar ", es mecánico de autos. Cuando yo era un joven de unos 20 años tenía un enorme 4x4 Toyota FJ40 modelo 1981, entonces "El Polar" era mi frecuente compañero de aventuras 4x4 y mi ayudante mecánico. Ah sí! También bebíamos cantidades ingentes de cerveza "Polar" (la más vendida en nuestro país) hasta emborracharnos y quedar incoherentes... Desde entonces todo el mundo conoce a Juan Carlos como "El Polar"...

My namesake "Jesús Alfredo"/_{Mi tocayo "Jesús Alfredo"}

Jesús Alfredo was my high school classmate and we have known each other for over forty years.... I had stopped seeing him in person for several years, as he had been trying his luck in other countries. But in the last few days I had the great joy of meeting him in a huge ploughed field located to the southeast of town. According to what he told me, he decided to return to our country and rent some land to do something he has always liked, which is " farming"... So I took this portrait of him with the furrows of the ploughed land in the background.

**Jesús Alfredo **fue mi compañero de secundaria y nos conocemos desde hace más de cuarenta años... Le había dejado de ver en persona durante varios años, pues él estuvo probando suerte en otros países. Pero en días pasados tuve la gran alegría de encontrarlo en un enorme terreno arado ubicado al sureste del pueblo. Según él me contó, decidió volver a nuestro país y arrendar algunas tierras para hacer algo que siempre le ha gustado que es "sembrar"... Así que le hice este retrato justamente con los surcos de la tierra arada como fondo.

"Mateo"/_"Mateo"

"Matías and Mateo"/_{"Matías y Mateo"}

Matías and Mateo are brothers and live in my nearby neighbourhood (just a couple of streets away from my house).... One day I passed by their street with my camera and they both started telling their father: "Tell that man to take some pictures of us"... Their father told them: "Go and tell him yourselves and see what he thinks"... And since then Matías and Mateo get free photos every time I see them!... ha ha ha :))... They are excellent boys, very cheerful, they look happy and full of energy. They are very well behaved with adults and you can tell that their parents have done an excellent job in educating them.

Matías y Mateo son hermanos y viven en mi vecindario cercano (apenas a un par de calles de mi casa)... Un día pasé por su calle con mi cámara y ambos comenzaron a decirle a su padre: "Dile a ese señor que nos haga unas fotos"... Su padre les dijo: "Vayan y díganle ustedes mismos a ver que opina"... ¡Y desde entonces Matías y Mateo tienen fotos gratis cada vez que les veo!... ha ha ha :))... Son chicos excelentes, muy alegres, lucen felices y repletos de energía. Su trato con los adultos es muy correcto y se nota que sus padres han hecho un excelente trabajo al educarlos.

"Simón"/_"Simón"

Simon is the husband of one of my mother's best friends and therefore someone I have known since forever. I don't know how old Simon may be, but one thing I do know is that I have never, ever (and I'm not exaggerating) seen his face without a smile on it... It's absolutely incredible, but that's how it is!... My late father used to say about Simon: That guy is a "good soul"... Well, I met Simon at the end of last month in the street and after greeting him I shot this portrait without telling him, and you know what?... He came out laughing in it! :))

Simón es el esposo de una de las mejores amigas de mi madre y por lo tanto es alguien a quien conozco desde siempre. Yo no sé cuantos años de edad pueda tener Simón, pero algo que sí se es que jamás, pero jamás (y no estoy exagerando) he visto su rostro sin una sonrisa... ¡Es algo absolutamente increíble, pero así es!... Mi difunto padre decía respecto a Simón: Ese tipo es un "alma buena"... Y bien, encontré a Simón a finales del mes pasado en la calle y después de saludarlo le disparé este retrato sin avisarle y ¿saben qué?... ¡Salió riéndose en el! :))

"Julio"/_"Julio"

Some of you may know Julio. He is a friend who usually goes around the streets selling the spices he grows, he also sells small things that he usually carries as a street vendor in the streets of this and other nearby villages. The day I took this photo of Julio, he didn't want to look at the camera, saying: "He looked very ugly that day". So I asked him: "And when the fuck have you ever been pretty Julio? ha ha ha :))... And of course I fired the shutter!

A Julio quizás algunos de ustedes le conocen. Es un amigo que suele ir por las calles vendiendo la especias que siembra, también vende pequeñas cosas que suele llevar como vendedor ambulante por las calles de este pueblo y de otros cercanos. El día que le hice esta foto Julio no quiso mirar hacia la cámara alegando que: "Ese día lucía él muy feo". Entonces yo le pregunté: ¿Y cuando carajo tú haz sido bonito Julio? ha ha ha :))... ¡Y obviamente disparé el obturador!.

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
